JULIE! I wish I'd written this post! I've been fighting just to NOT gain at almost 2 years out. Just today I've started logging my food and workouts again at www.fitday.com. (free if you haven't tried it). I'm hoping that this will keep me on the straight and narrow...and back to a positive outcome! My post was an attempt to reflect MY PERSONAL experience--my main point was to try to let you guys know to WORK IT during the honeymoon period...I did not...and while I had pretty good results, I am nowhere near anyones goal for me...I pride myself on being a positive person... your post spoke to me and motivated me...I just wanted to say thanks!

Thank you for saying that Lynda, that was nice of you.

I have been depressed for years, including many hospitalizations and a few attempted suicides. Nothing in my life has come easy for me and everything I have, I worked my ass off for.
I've been off all my medications for almost 2 years now and am doing awesome. But there is a moment in my life not too long ago that I will never forget ... being all alone with nobody to turn to for help and not having the rent money. After calling everyone I knew for help, and being turned down by everyone ... I realized that was my rock bottom. That was it ... how could anything get any worse? And with that thought, came another ... If I'm all the way down at the bottom, then there is nowhere to go but UP! I have absolutely NOTHING TO LOSE! I can go in any direction I chose and not be afraid of failing.
I sit here and can barely remember that girl I was back then. She seems like a stranger to me. And when things get really really bad for me, I see it as the perfect opportunity to try something new. When you feel like giving up is when you should take life by the balls show it who's boss!
Nobody succeeds at everything they try ... failure is a part of life. But giving up? Hell no. That's not even an option.

Izzy - at 9 months post-op (that was yesterday), I'd lost 77.5lb.

Sweetheart - there's no set pattern for all.

One thing I would recommend is that you start recording every single thing you eat (fitday.com is my choice - The Daily Plate is another good one).

We're now able not only to eat more but we also consume a wider variety of foods - some of them aren't always the best choice.

It's tough but if you keep to the programme, the weight will continue to drop.

Exercise is another thing you have to focus on as well.

Default thanks everyone!!

well just an update, or should I say no update. I am still the same here a week later. Nothing lost. I have exercise, drank protein, changed protein, drank some more, took my vitamins, drank more protein, ate more protein and NOTHING!!!!!!! Damn, what is wrong with me. I hate this. My daughter is turning 13 today and I was hoping to be 250 today. Yea right, I am really dreaming. But I am going to go drink some more shitty protein, and take my vitamins. I have been writing down what I eat and I will probably go back to that web site, as I did that in the beginning for my approval as requested by my personal exercise person at that time. I am not going to give up, but it does get really depressing. I am going to up my water again as I have slacked over the past three days, and it is already showing as I almost passed out again last night. Again thank you everyone for your love and encouragement. I really don't know what I would do without you all.

Izzy... Get rid of your scale NOW!!!

I would find a pair of pants that almost fit and just try them on once a week rather then weighing on the scale. Also take your tape measurements. Those numbers may be moving even though the scale isn't. Those measurements actually mean a lot more then the number on the scale.

I KNOW it's frustrating. Lots of us hit stalls and they do SUCK A**. It will get better and you have lost a FANTASTIC amount of weight in a pretty short amount of time. Look at what you've GAINED rather then what you want to lose. *hugs*

Ladies!!!

I think I have found everyone gets that frustration.. I had my sug 6/4/08. I lost the first 10 days.. and nothing since.. Now I know what you mean by feeling like a failure. Doctors & staff keeps saying.. don't worry you'll lose it! But by lose it, they MUST mean GO CRAZY!!! not weight loss... But I know that it will work.. I just have to give it the time! But still it is hard to cope with out our friend FOOD! BACK AWAY FROM THE ICE CREAM AND CHIPS!!! You are an inspiration to me! You are doing amazing! And I am thankful you are so open, lets me know I'm not on this crazy journey alone!

Thanks Ladies, Samaria I have gone crazy. Unfortunately I did not step away from the ice cream one day and paid dearly for it. I laid in the bed rolling and dying, screaming. Lets just say I will not do that again. It was not worth it at all. But I am still trying. I have to realize that I am going to be the one that takes 2 years and be happy with that.

On a new wow, I FIT IN THE BATHTUB AGAIN!!!!!!! I will let you know in a new wow thread.
