Bedroom Remodeling
I have been working on re-doing my bedroom for the past few weeks. I ran out of paint today so there is still one and a half walls that are still white. I just wanted to show you some pictures. The wall behind my desk still needs paint but I can't buy any more for a few weeks.
This is when you first walk up to my bedroom door.
Here is my desk that we built backwards so that it would fit into my room. And a very small part of my yoyo collection. The majority of it is on the wall in the hallways.
Here is my purple guitar that will soon be replaced by a Fender Stratocaster white body with pearl purple pickguard, and here is my Marshall amp stack poster (actual size too) that I got for my birthday. We have the actual stack amp downstairs too to play on.
My baby acoustic purple guitar that my dad got me in Mexico and my Micro Cube amp and subwoofer for my stereo.

A close up of my Cube along with my purple tuner and a few picks.
This is the bottom bunk of my bed where I sleep along with my little black graduation bear.
One shelf on my bookcase where I have my diploma, cap and tassel, and cards displayed.
Another shelf with my mini scooters, BMX bikes, and skateboards.

Love the purple...
Laura,
You have done a stellar job on your room... Will you come and do mine?? ..hehe... but seriously it loods so darn cute... Everything is so neat and in place. I can't say the same for my room...haha... Don't worry about not having all the paint yet. It will come soon enough. What you have done so far is great.... I love it all...
Hugz,

Love your rubber band ball! I used to have one.. it was huge.. wonder whatever happened to that thing. Oh well, you'll lose a lot of stuff over the next few years of college. Your priorities kinda change. Cool guitar!

Will you come clean my bedroom?
I love the color you have chosen. I had to laugh when I saw the mini boards. I had never heard of them until about 8 yrs ago. How long have you been playing guitar? I need to find a left-handed one. Your room is kewl, and so are you!

Actually, it's not a rubber band ball. It's a yoyo string ball. It is all of the yoyo strings that I have broken over the years all wrapped together. It's just pure string, it's not wrapped around a smaller ball or anything.

Very cool room Laura, and I love the purple color on the walls.
I wish my 18 year old son kept his room as neat as yours. I can't even hardly walk through his room, due to the piles of (mostly clean) clothes lying on the floor. I gave up a couple of years ago, and now I try to just ignore it...although I make him keep a couple of air fresheners in there to cover up the "teenage boy odor". Just wait until he goes off to college! <insert wicked laugh>
I have one more cool idea for your room, and it's very inexpensive and fairly easy to do. Have you thought about putting a painted stencil border on the top of the walls? Doing around the entire room is a bit of a chore, but you could do all 4 corners, and around the light switch. I think big flowers would look cool, and it would coordinate with your curtains. You can start off by just doing it in white, and then if you feel confident enough with your stenciling skills, you can add in some color later. They sell special stenciling paint, but I've used just plain wall paint before...just be careful to not put much on your stenciling brush, and blot it on a paper towel...and you use a daubing motion while applying it. It's a good idea to buy a cheap piece of poster board, and practice on that a bit before you tackle the wall itself.

My mom made the curtains to match my bed quilt 7 years ago. They're going bye bye now. I'm getting new purple curtains, but I have other flower stuff too so that would be cool. My room was all butterflys and flowers, so some of the flower stuff is staying. I'm going to try that stencil thing.
