I was watching Americas next top model and find it really sad that they considered Whitney( who ended up winning) a plus sized model b/c she was a size 8!!! that is not plus sized, that is normal, she even was denied by a deisgner for a runway show, b/c they designer only wanted girls who wore a size 0-2, I happen to be at a size 6 and im striving for a size 4, but its really sad, b/c now im realizing who I have been comparing myself to, size 0 models!

ugh please dont get me started. i saw that too.. i was on the beach today and i felt plus sized stilll. ughhh.

You know, I was talking to my dad about this a few weeks back. I saw on TV that someone got excited when they came out with 'plus size' thongs...in a size 8. We came to conclusion that they say plus size because it is a plus size compared to most models. Most models are a size 00-4 or something like that, so a size 8 is bigger than most. I think that they were using plus size just to compare modeling sizes, not actual sizes in the real world.

sz 8 in underwear is xl... sz 7- large, 6-medium 5-small..

underwear is all diff.

I went to photo shoot for lingerie, an I was auditioning for the plus size spot-I' m a 6/8. I guess next to someone like Kate Moss Im ginormous!

But hell I dont mind being ginormous, I would be me than a waif!

You know, I'm a size 8 and let me tell you, I have plenty of "plus" hanging off my bootie and thighs. I think when you're a model, you just have an amazingly low body fat percetage - well of course.

The label of plus doesn't bother me at all. I know what I look like and even if they called an 8 a minus, I'd still want to lose the extra 20 pounds you know? These things tell us about labels, but not about who we are. How much does it matter? Certainly not enough for me to worry about.

Don't get bent out of shape. If they said, "Anyone size 8 and above is now a can-opener size" you wouldn't worry, because the word is meaningless. Well, frankly, so is the word "plus" unless you give it meaning.

Perception is everything.

To elaborate on what Jersey Girl said ...
I wear size 18 jeans (plus size obviously) AND I wear size 8 underwear. Now, there is NO WAY you would ever see my big fat ass in a THONG! ((cringing at the thought)) When I went in for surgery I wore size 26 jeans and size 11 underwear ... see how that works?
Personally I wounldn't want to see ANYONE my size in a THONG!!

I meant someone that wears a size 8 clothing. Whatever size underwear would be there.

How did the photo shoot go? Do you have any pics that you could share. I would love to have a knock out body. Right now there will be no lingerie here.
