Unhappy Headache~not WLS related

I have had a constant headache for three days now. Having headaches is normal for me, but they are never constant like this. I went to the doc (my pcp) today to get something to help b/c OTC meds weren't helping. Well, she looks in my ears and says I have an ear infection in both ears! My ears weren't even hurting. They took xrays and blood. My sinuses are hazy, and bloodwork (cell count) was fine. She also said my neck is straight (it's supposed to be curved), but that I knew. So she thinks my headache is a combo of a tension and sinus headache. Double trouble.

Today was actually my last day of the Prev-Pack b/c of H-pylori. 8 pills a day that was (4 in morn, 4 in even) for 14 days. And the taste in my mouth from the Biaxin is horrible! So I was all excited that the 14 days of those pills were done. And even though the Prev-pack had antibiotics, I got an ear infection! Wonderful.

So, you ready for the meds I got today??? I feel like a druggie!!!

Vicodin (pain)
Soma (muscle relaxant)
Naprosyn (anti-inflammatory/nsaid)[which I know you can't take after surgery]
Xyzal (for sinuses)
Avelox (antibiotic)
Nasacort (nose spray)

When I got home I used the spray, and took all of the meds above. And guess what? I'm all nice and relaxed, can't fall asleep, and my head still hurts! WTF?????

I'm not a doctor here, but this is my personal experience.

I've been plagued since childhood with ear infections, sinus and allergies. All related. I found that if I can take a regular allergy/decongestant that it helps keep the fluids in my ears down. When I was little my mom would put warm sweet oil? I think in my ears with some cotton. Helps with the pain. Haven't done that since child hood, but it's just a thought. The decongestant will help with the fluids. Please keep an eye on your ears. I have some scarring due to many, many infections. Your ears and eyes are so important, so like I said make sure you keep on top of it. Hope you feel better soon.

So sorry that you are dealing with ear infection! My youngest son struggled with those when he was small and had to have a couple of surgeries to help clear them. He is now 24 years old and has been fine.

I hope you get better quick! Surgery is just around the corner and you want to be well.

Aww, how awful! Man, I hope something in all those meds kills your pain super soon.

I also get regular headaches. In fact, I have a doctor appointment on the 11th partially to talk about how my headaches have been more frequent in the last few months. After reading your post now I'm like, "hmm, my ears DO feel clogged..." Heh! It has been sooo windy here lately, that I think that might be affecting me, but wouldn't it be weird if I also had some sort of infection.

Anyway, sending you good "healthy" vibes. Get well soon!

Thank you for the well wishes! I too was plagued with ear infections when I was young. I even had hallucianations once, and I actually remember that! I have a lot of scarring in my ears, and have trouble sometimes on cell phones. I hear myself saying "what" a lot.

Thanks. As I just posted, I had TONS of ear infections as a child. I probably should have gotten tubes, but I never did. Don't know why. I think I'll ask my mom. hehe

Thank you too! My frequent headaches is really a pain in the...head! It's usually tension related. I am a teacher after all. LOL I also suffer from allergies, so maybe that is one of the causes. I know that my muscles are the culprit too!
