I'm glad you're already on your way, Katie. That way, what I have to say won't influence your decision to go.

It was kind of corny. I say that with much respect and knowing that the other movies have a silliness to them as well. I knew it wasn't going to be Citizen Kane or anything but the whole plot seemed a little far out, even for Indiana Jones.

It was pure camp, but easily the worst of the four movies. As a stand alone movie, I would give it a 3 (out of 10). As an Indiana Jones movie, maybe a 5, though that is tempered with the understanding that I've been so excited about this movie for months!

I'm not typing any spoilers here--for those who haven't seen it yet, but I will say that if you've ever enjoyed the Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoons, then you are going to LOVE Cate Blanchette in this. Her role and her accent were laughable, and Karen Allen had this mother/friend/comic foil thing going on that made her character unwelcome and somewhat unintelligible.

I was underwhelmed, and I'm normally pretty shallow about my media choices. Case in point, I enjoyed the commercial for "Kung Fu Panda" more than the actual movie. (I was also excited about Will Smith's new movie, Hancock!)

Good luck to those that decide to go--and let me know what you think!!

-Mike

Please forgive the hijack, but Tanya, I, too, feel very misplaced in Texas (your location). Where in Texas are you misplaced? I'm misplaced in Brenham, halfway between Houston and Austin. And lately I feel VERY misplaced!!

HOME! We enjoyed it... A LOT! Yeah, it was cheesy and lame - but pure FUN! I guess we're open for a "Junior Jones" series, huh?

I'm a sucker for animation - the Kung Fu Panda movie looks fun... And did you see the preview for Wall-E? I just figured out that's what my granddaughter is saying in a little video I made of her the other night... she wants to see the movie.. and sang a song that repeats: "Wall-e is my favorite friend" three times... Wonder if it's a real song or if she made it up! Hm... She's only 3... This grandma can't wait to share movies with her... but I think she needs another year under her belt!

I saw that you wrote after I PM'ed you!

How CUTE are those kids! What do they think about their incredibly shrinking grandma?

I wish I'd caught this on tape:

Me: What's your favorite color?
Seluna: Lellow
Me: What's your favorite movie?
Seluna: Belle (we were watching Beauty & the Beast at the time)
Me: Who's your favorite grandma?
Seluna: Aunt Jane (my sister!)

Sheesh... I guess I would have dropped my camera at that point... LOL!

Disney is building a couple Wall-E robots that will interact with visitors at disneyland and disney world. I saw a video preview and it's so damn cute! They captured his personality and movements perfectly! You can't help but love the little guy!

As for Indiana Jones - yes it was lame, predictable, dumb and mindless - I absolutely loved it! Our son went to the midnight show with some friends. He dressed as Indiana (complete with "official" leather jacket, fedora, and pouch he got at disneyland), he added a whip, and of course the brown shirt and pants, one friend went as Marion, and another as Sallah (complete with fez, tie and cumberbun). Everyone cheered when they walked into the theater!

I just got home from seeing it a little while ago. I absolutely LOVED it! Yes, it was corny, but aren't they all? Harrison Ford is one of my favorites, and Indy is the best character. I can't wait until the DVD set comes out! I'm sure there will be all sorts of special features and it will be amazing! I would like to watch the first three and go see it again. I remembered a lot of stuff, but I'm sure I missed a lot, too.
