Default Iced Tea

Ok, I have a silly question...Will iced tea (sweetened with equal or splenda) slow or hinder weight loss? I have been really slow in losing all along, but I am losing none the less, but this week I have wanted iced tea so bad...

So is it a bad idea? I get over 60oz of water every day...What do you guys think?

i know that decaf SF teas are on my list for liquids.

the caffeine will make you feel more hungry and may cause ulcers.

I think it is o.k. as long as it is caffine free tea. I am sure someone on here knows.

I drink at least one glass of Splenda sweet tea a day and it hasn't caused me any issues or stalled my weightloss. I was only told that caffeine will dehydrate me, so I needed to compensate with additional water.

Try Special K Iced Tea Protein Water. They are little packets that you mix with your own bottled water. I bought mine at WalMart in the diet section. They are absolutely delicious, plus they have 5 grams of protein. I'm going from memory, but I believe each packet has 30 calories. You're supposed to mix each one with 16 ounces of water. I think that's too strong tasting, and I actually mix it in a big 32 ounce bottle with water and ice.

I talked with my surgeon about this ...
I love tea and coffee. The first two months she wanted me to stick to decaf. She explained that caffeine can be dangerous to a new pouch because it can cause an ulcer. The caffeine will actually eat at the incissions. She did say that I should be fine having a cup or two of regular coffee a day now that I'm over 2 months out ... but to do my best to stick with decaf when possible. I count iced tea and coffee as part of my daily water consumption.
The only time I end up having caffeine is when it's the only option ... like a sugar-free light mocha frap.

I also read that caffeine leaches calcium from the bones.

I'm 99% sure the the Special K Iced Tea Protein Water (that I posted about above) is caffeine free.

no no no if its CAFFIENTATED that actually takes away fluids from you and you'll need 2 cups for every cup of caffeine you drink so you cant count caffeinated stuff as fluids (thats what my doctor said)

i have 2 cups of coffee a day and i'm up to 80 oz of fluid not counting the coffee

Oh, great! Before deciding to start the pre-op process, I drank about 9 cans of Diet Mountain Dew per day...AT LEAST! for...2 years maybe? Good thing I have a blood test in a few days to check levels!
