Default I'm back!!!

I posted this in emotional support but thought I might 'hit' more people here with this info.

Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes!!! I went to the orthopaedic specialist on Thursday and my splint was removed from my left ankle and they put on an air cast. My 'good ankle' is okay but still sore.

Since Thursday and the new cast I actually feel like I'm in more pain but that is slowly dissipating - I'm elevating, icing, and resting. It is tough - I have cabin fever!! I am supposed to leave this coming Friday for a business trip involving going to Toronto and Calgary so I'm hoping to find a wheelchair to rent (the crutches are just making my shoulders ache and I was seeing a chiropractor for shoulder trouble prior to this ankle fracture). In any other instance I'd cancel the business trip but... the tail end of it in Calgary is my 'once per year' conference that is just for moi - not attending to please anyone else, just me, so I really want to go come hell or highwater.

I will be having some blood work done and a bone density scan just to completely ensure that 'bad bones' or 'low calcium' had nothing to do with the original accident.

The 'good' news if any is that I think I've lost a bit of weight (I can't get on the scale with one foot - it throws everything off) because one of my pairs of size 8 pants was snug around the middle creating a small roll and now there's no roll - so I'm happy about that .

Again, thanks to everyone for your concern and especially thanks to Mike for posting the information on my extremely klutzy accident!!!

Hugs,
Kimberly

Hey, girlie..welcome back! Sorry to hear about yor injury, but I'm sure you'll be up and about in no time. Imagine if you had done this before you lost the weight...lugging around that extra buck twenty five on crutches? Ouch! Glad to see you....
