There's a world of difference between asking for a private area for the old timers to discuss long term issues, and asking for an exclusive chat room for all of you who know better...... who know wha the F*@k they are talking about.
Can you see why people are getting uptight about this!
Most aren't pi$$ed off with what you have to say. It's how you say it!

I stated what I wanted, me me me what I needed. Who cares ow I said it, its my need. Jeezus. yes i need a place to talk to people who get it, who know what they are talking about. in a couple of years, you too will know what you are talkng about too. Now, leave me the hell alone already!

Bridget! Honey, I love and respect you, but you are raw at this point! I am not a newbie and I have been here for a couple of years and this post to me is WAY off base and your reactions to people we are supposed to be helping is totally flooring me. Saying you want a special forum with people "that know what the F@CK they are talking about" is asking for a flame war and personally, I don't blame any of them that responded. You just called them ignorant and stupid in a sense. You could have definitely said this differently. It's all in the wording and if I were a newbie, I would have been one of those people posting to you. Please step back and take a breather dear! Your opinions or support will be worth shit to these people when you decide to give it to them and they will not listen to a thing you have to say. I'm not saying you have to be each one's friend, but you should be respectful and considerate of other's feelings.
Tammy, as I said, I am not a newbie and I would consider myself on the "in crowd" for long-termers, as it seems you guys are putting it, but I do not live close to you and I am not your friend in RL, so I have a feeling this forum that Bridget was trying to create was not for RL friends only. If so, does this mean I can't be invited either because I don't live in your neighborhood? I don't think so because Duckie would be invited and she don't live there either or never met you in RL. I think this thing is getting twisted in ways it shouldn't be and the true meaning of this idea is being demolitioned by some of you. This is not a forum to use for your personal RL circle of friends ONLY. It's for ALL members and if it's not, then maybe I need to leave.
I just wish you guys would stop being so critical of the ones with baby pouches and start supporting instead of tearing the foundation down for them or isolating them. There are ways to go about everything. You just have to apply your noodle and be a little considerate and things work themselves out. Just remember that these people have feelings and insecurities just like you and I or else they wouldn't be here faced with the same issues of food and weight that we are/were. I hope you guys will be a little nicer......
Or else the newbies may come up with an exclusive form that is called "For the nice, caring, and considering newbies and not for the mean bitches that are over two or three years out and have developed a major attitude".

Bridget, do you feel that if you were to open up and share some of the things you are going through at long term that you would be ridiculed? I would hope not. I, for one would love to hear them. And would love to hear what responses/suggestion/encouragement you would get from other lon termers that have been through it. We newbies need to know what we are going to come up against. It will make the journey easier when we get there. Were there long termers that told you about these things back when you were a newbie or are they blindsiding you? Anyway, I think the things would be very valuable said in public to help all. And I hope it's not that you want to shield us from it. We need to know. Just like it was great for pre-surgery people to hear from us post-surgeryers. All the good and the bad. Not just the good. And then to be an encouragement.

Oh wow oh wow oh wow... I am jumping in on this one. I have been such a good girl today too.
Pummychal, I see both sides on this one. I tried my HARDEST to give newbies some advice this week and all I accomplished was getting into a pissing match. They didn't want to listen to my advice from being an "oldie" and being where they are... I was told that I was on my "high horse" and on my "skinny throne"...even though I didn't throw out any name calling and was honestly only trying to help, I got jumped (IMO).... so, I can see where Bridget might be coming from on this one. I am not on one side or the other though... I can just see where she is coming from per se.
Not trying to offend anyone here, cuz honestly I can only be in so many fights in one week.

geesh thats nice to know that some people want to only talk to those that they've known for what 4 years
I dont "know" you Bridget IRL but i've TOTALLY loved your responses and your forthrightness and you tell it like it is, and i've also read compassionate posts from you that blew my mind. So thats why this one has really confused the heck out of me. You have always given me SOUND advice, strong but with a caring touch. I too have "thick skin" as someone has put it and can take OMG just about anything, but honestly this one hurt my feelings. I come and contribute alot to everyone no matter if they are years out or pre op and i feel like i am not good enough either to get to know you because you dont want to give me a chance. We are all different and wont always agree, and yes we do know things, not neccesarily about the 6month of post op stuff, but on a personal and even professional level.
I'm sorry Briget for whatever got YOUR panties in a bunch but i have totally respected what you've said until this post

Yes, exactly... I didn't say they HAD TO TAKE MY FREAKIN ADVICE...BUT it would have been nice not to get in a pissing match about it. They could have said "thank you for your opinion" and moved on ARRRRRRRRRR. Seriously, everything is a f*cking fight and I am tired....I am going to make love to my bald honey right now and go to sleep... I know, TMI...but maybe I can take my aggression out there....
