Go faster on the treadmil for one.
Yes, try different types of exercise. Your body get used to doing the same thing over and over then nothing happens.
I agree with upping the calories. You are still stuck in that calorie counting mode hon. Thinking you are eating too much. Stop obsessing!! Think of how many calories you USED TO EAT to put this into perspective.

Manda, you're right about the malabsorption factor. I think that lasts about a year, 18 months. After that our bodies seem to learn/develop ways to get a lot more out of the food we eat. It is also the end of the honeymoon period.

When we are fresh out, we can best jump start a stalled loss by eating more calories (as long as they are protein calories or other good kinds of food!) to jar our bodies out of starvation mode. What that doesn't mean is that if you haven't lost weight in a while you can get it going again by having a banana split.

It takes women 10 calories per pound per day to just exist. (If you weigh 150, your maintenance amount of calories per day is 1500. Whatever your weight is, multiply it by 10, you have your 'baseline' calorie amount. For men it's 12 cals per pound. Then if you want to lose that 1 lb, a woman's new calorie 'budget' would be 1000 calories per day. Again, this is applies to people who are in their maintenance phase, not newbies who are still in their honeymoon period.

You need carbs to get the calories. Don't be afraid of them. My surgeon recommended a minimum of 70g of protein and 70g of carbs a day. I know people on here hate carbs, but you really do need them to not only add the calories, but give your body what it needs to create instant energy, thus moving your metabolism. Otherwise, you're it's just using your lean muscle and that's not a good thing. I thought the carb count was a little high myself, but I've followed his requirements and I've lost the weight.

Michelle is right on the exercise as well. Do not do the same thing over and over. Your body gets used to it. I don't walk for long amounts of time. I have a treadmill at home and push myself to walk 8-10 minute miles at a 6-7 mph pace, keeping my heartrate over 140 for maximum burn. Some days I do this once, some twice, some three times. Mix in a little weight lifting to keep my body guessing.

Yes, good carbs. I eat a sandwich now and then on one slice of whole grain bread, or some simple sugar/carb fruits like watermelon or grapes. Add some green vegetables in when you can. I have something crunchy ever once and awhile, but the combination of the carbs and the salt really starts the cravings, so I avoid when I can. Nuts, like almonds and pecans are great, a spoonful of peanut butter every so often, cereals like Kashi or Special K Protein Plus are great. It's really all about maximizing your meals to get the best value out of them. But if you're eating the 5-6 small meals a day like most surgeons recommend, that breaks down to 200 calories and about 15g of carbs and proteins per meal. And those of course will drop with a good protein drink thrown in. I still do one a day, and usually two. And really, I hate eating. I've definitely gone from the "living to eat" to the "eating to live" mindset. But I have a routine and I've stuck to it. But as Duckie mentioned, get out of the mindset of counting calories. Find what is good for you, eat your small meals (lots of chicken and seafood), get it set in your mind what portions you can have, listen to your body, and everything will work out as planned.

But yes, talk to your nutritionist. Take a log of what you've been eating and work with that. It's may seem hard to get to 1500 calories, but didn't we use to eat 5000+ without thinking about it?

I need my Phoenix girl to start kicking some serious weight-loss ass!
