And when you are 2 years out I hope you can say you don't eat crap...and followed your own advice. I believe in moderation... I eat whatever I want....be it crap or not, but I am still maintaining my loss. Did I have to do the 5DPT to get back on track.. yep, but since you are going to take your own advice you will never have to do the 5DPT....congratulations!!

I didn't get the free chicken. DH stopped on his way to work and got the free chicken biscuit, now that would have been good! I LOVE McD's biscuits!

I did, however, have two free small iced coffees from Dunkin' Donuts today. Yum! I am a Starbucks girl so I had never tried DD coffee, but it's pretty good. Not my Starbucks, but not half bad. Plus, it was free!

That's funny...because from what I have read today you already marked your calendar for May 2008 as "free to eat junk food".

I know, you're right and I totally own that. I know eating pretzels right now is NOT a good idea, and for myself I am going to work on that.
Thanks Cindy, hope I didn't piss you off here. Just sticking up for myself is all.

I'm no way a debate team member but i believe i was taking your advice. Over in the disgusting post, you said about how new post oppers shouldnt be eating like this. Tell me please why it is okay for you to eat crap and not me? NO i'm not eating that way not NOW nor again because i know that it was Mcdonalds and Soda and etc that made me the big girl i am now.

Thats great your "maintaining" your loss but i see people that are 5 years out on here all the time whining about how they picked up there weight again and its because they STARTED EATING CRAP AGAIN! I am glad you did the 5dpt and hopefully you wont derail your tool either after another year or so.

I'm just saying Cindy that if I go back and search old posts, i'm SURE i will find posts from some of the long termers having these SAME issues with temptations and such. Wow could that be true, that some of us are "normal or the same " again i dont agree with you being 2 years out and eating crap from mcdonalds at ALL i think your defeating your tool as well

And for the record, Cindy i totally respect all your comments and concerns and mean well when i tell you that you shouldnt be eating that either you look INCREDIBLE and i know you must have worked hard to get that way

If you read earlier in this Thread I stated I don't eat McDonald's... I eat better crap food then that. You just aren't getting it... We didn't get fat because we are big boned... we all have eating issues, that didn't go away with surgery. The tool helps us lose weight and re-learn good eating habits in the Honeymoon period. The fact that I can now eat whatever I want in moderation is exactly how I want it to be. I don't want to live my life not being able to have my favorite treats... but I learned during my Honeymoon period how to eat right..so I could fall back on that when I needed to. How will the newly post ops who are currently eating crap learn anything?

Where is my "banging my head against the wall" smiley? After 2 years out or so, yes, you can eat pretty much anything, however, IN MODERATION. This is AFTER you have learned everything you need to know about your body and how you should eat.
Did I have a "Nilla Cakester" today? Yep. I had one. Did I enjoy it? yep. Was it good for me? No. I won't be eating them daily. It was a treat. I know i will get on the scale tomorrow after eating healthy the rest of the day and it won't be an issue.
Have I been eating a Nilla cakester with each meal since two months post op? NO!!

This is a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG process. You have to learn the basics. Learn the correct way to use your tool FROM THE FIRST DAY POST OP! If you don't learn it then you are indeed screwed. You will indeed pick up those bad habits you continued, and then some, later on and gain the weight back.
Trust me, if I start gaining weight, I won't be whining, I"LL BE KICKING MY OWN ASS! I will know I am the one that caused it and have no one to blame but me. It will be cuz I stopped using the tool I have been given. I will be thining it's okay to do whatever I want, whenever I want, not in moderation.

Moderation IS the key, but only AFTER you have learned what you need to know.

TOTALLY in agreement with you Cindy i just think once you "LEARN" something you dont return to your "old" ways.

Good Lord if I thought like that i will be fat again. my old "treats" were what led me here. I dont know when to stop so i'm glad you can eat your "treats" now in moderation, but me personally i've GOT to stay away from my old treats otherwise for me this was useless
