How was your Mothers Day
Let me tell you how my day started out. The night before I set the alarm to get up early to do some cooking for our surprise trip to my moms. DH got up before me and went to the store.
My daughter runs in my bedroom to wake me up. No not to say Happy Mothers Day but to inform me that the kitchen ceiling was leaking. I got up to a disaster. I ran upstairs to try and find out where it was coming from. As I get closer to the bathroom the water starts to squish between my feet. The hall carpet was soaked. The bathroom sink was overflowing. I turned the water off and started dumping water in the toilet. Called my dad because DH is still not around. My dad comes over to discover that my youngest dumped rat food down the sink and we needed to snake it out. Got all of that done and cleaned up the house. Never got to cook for my mom because we had to be on the road. I did throw together a quick crab salad in the middle of the chaos. I called a grocery store had a deli tray made ran in and picked it up for a 2.5 hour drive to see my mom. Got there ate visited for an hour and got back on the road.
Oh by the way if you were wondering where my DH was he was off buying me a card. They didn't have Mothers Day cards where he went so I got a graduation card! The front said congratulations! WTF I thought I deserved a little more than that. What a crappy day.
I hope all you Moms had a better one.

First off what store does not have mothers day card that sells cards? WTF. And you do have a mothers day card on the way from Gatlin just got mailed late sorry. How is your mom doing? Any news on the job front. Send me your crab salad recipe too. I cleaned and did laundry and watched spongebob all day. Mine was fairly uneventful.

I did NOTHING and it was wonderful!! I woke to presents and kisses and Starbucks. I showered, put on clean jammies and sat in my recliner all day watching rented movies. Hubby and the kids waited on me hand and foot.
I watched August Rush, Juno, The Nanny Diaries, Sydney White, Before the Devil Knows You're Dead and half of Sweeny Todd.

Cassie I don't even know if he was aware that it wasn't a mothers day card until I pointed it out. My Mom found an attorney and things sound promising.

Still I know he made the effort with the card but come on. What did he say when you called him out on it being Graduation? Glad things are looking up for your mom. I bet she was just glad to have you guys there for mothers day. I didn't really even matter about the food.

My father-in-law bought my mother-in-law an "Across The Miles" card for Mother's Day a few years ago. He saw the nice picture and bought the card. The inside said, "I've been thinking about you lately and I miss our conversations..." or something along those lines.
Everybody in the family still talks about it.

Mine started well, The kids woke me up with the home and school made mothers day cards I love so much. We went to church.
The window on my hubby's car came off track, so my brother was gonna fix it while we were in church. - Now my brother has a history of making bad choices and disappearing for days, weeks and even months on end. He has been home for a while now. He has been on new medications and has been doing very well.
Until, he decided to leave in the car to get a "print out of the inside of the door" from the auto part store and not return! This was @ 10am. At 10 pm, I had no choice but to call and report him to the police as an unauthorized user. That way they could run the plate and see if he was stopped or in an accident. That would also authorize them to look for the car.
I did not enjoy doing this, but at this point I did not have a choice.
I did take time in-between to enjoy my day though. After church, we gathered at my mom's for a crawfish boil. The kids played on the spacewalk in the back yard. We went home and went swimming. Then after I got the kids off to bed, I made the call to report him...
So, I feel your pain... My day wasn;t so hot either... (My hubby is upset that he had to get up an hour earlier than he usually does to bring me to work!!!)

Ya know, most stores that sell cards also sell them that have nothing inside, just a pretty picture on the outside. A graduation card indeed....
Other than the fact that immigration in Canada sucks donkey bits, and I had to cancel my trip to California, my mother's day was fine. My oldest bought me a necklace with my name on it and my son got a cake. We had chocolate fondue after dinner (I ate the fruit) and DH bought me fabric to make the baby an outfit on my new sewing machine.

My day was GREAT! Got up to breakfast and coffee then the kids got me a step mom card and a neckless that says Mom on it with a heart a two flowers (it's VERY pretty). Of course I cried . Tim did everything. I did nothing yesterday. Everytime I would get up he would tell me to sit down I'm not doing anything. He got me drinks all day, and whatever else I wanted. i think if he could go to the bathroom for me he would. HOW can I not love that man! he's a keeper for sure!
Oh yeah we also took our Mom's to brunch, and again the women and the table did nothing.
