I just checked a container I bought last week. The expiration date is 6/11, so that's more than two months.
I just had half a container (7 ounce) made into the yummiest tzatziki sauce. That's the stuff that's served on Greek gyros sandwiches (or at Olga's). Here's my recipe:
Tzatziki Sauce
1 container Fage Greek yogurt (whatever fat content you prefer -- I use 2%)
1 clove garlic, minced (you can vary this to your own taste -- I love garlic)
2 inches of an English seedless cucumber, peeled and diced fine
1 dash cayenne (red pepper)
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
Put all ingredients into a blender (I use a Magic Bullet) and blend until smooth.
Use as a dip for vegetables, a sauce on a sandwich, a salad dressing, or just eat as is!

I may ask at my local store if they can order it, sometimes they are good about that and sometimes not.... won't hurt to ask though.
Thanks Aspiemom for the recipe, I may have to end of trying that.

It's pretty much the same as regular yogurt. It has an expiration date printed on it, so it depends on how fresh it is when you buy it. I've had 2, 3, and 4 weeks left to go on mine when I've bought it before. (I think Thann might have made a typo above when she said more than 2 months...she probably meant more than 1 month?)

Ya know, I don't even know if yogurt CAN go bad. After all, it's already infested with bacteria! I mean, how could you tell?
Hmmm. Maybe I should do an experiment.
On second thought, maybe not! LOL!
'thann
Edited to add: Yes, I really DO know that it can grow bad -- it gets pink or green and gets mold spores that look like little hairs on it...

I don't even want to know how you found that out.

You can definitely get it in TN, Whole Foods on Hillsboro carries it. It is right down the road from Vanderbilt. Since Dr. Dyer is your doc I guess you'll be in Nashville frequently. I got some there a few days ago and it is good until June 11th...so just over a month here.

Just be careful with the Honey the first time you try it. Honey didn't bother me, but, some have said that it made them dump.
