Um, Hello! I'm glad our minds are in the same place, it's nice to have company! It sounds like it should be called the Pontiac "Bend Over And Trust Me."

Hello there Mr. Fisher,
I have enjoyed reading your entire thread today. I am new and wanted to get a look at how everybody else is doing on the board. I'm amazed at how well you did in the early days, post-op. My partner and I are doing horrible and I just don't see anybody else on this board talking about THEIR terrible time. Are we the only ones? I'm going to go start a new thread about it. Thanks for all the fun reading and I look forward to more.

I bought a Scion XB for one of my guys to save money driving a diesel service truck to work and back (120 round trip) every day, needless to say it paid for itself in a year, the guy quit, the car sat at one of my yards for about 3 months, I decided Id better go pick it up and take it to the office for the girls to use running around town, well, I got in and drove it to my office, and you cant get me out of that thing with a hand grenade now!! It is the best little fricken toy around, goes anywhere, runs just fine, 32MPG, and it fit my (then) fat ass!!!

MONEY IN THE BANK TO DATE......$360
This is the running amount of money saved by not having to spend so much eating out. Number based on spending $20 a day on food. And that very conservative!!!

I think if you're looking only in the 'socialize' portion of the forum, you won't see as many of the posts where people are struggling. Look in the Post-op section, where you'll find you have plenty of company.

Good luck.

Okay,

We went to look at some cars tonight and I think we're down to between the Scion xD (I really like its look...) and the Honda Fit Sport. Both have good EPA ratings and get good gas mileage. I checked out that fueleconomy.gov website, Sherry...it was VERY informative!

We're going to test drive the Fit in the morning, but I'm not making a decision for another week or so at least. We're not in a real rush, and the last time we bought a car we hemmed and hawed for a couple of weeks and actually got a lower price on the car we wanted. That's what I'll be doing this time too...

Thanks for all the advice, folks!

-Mike

Glad it was helpful for you Mike. Wow, I'm surprised that our government can actually create something useful and informative.
