I get to "stimulate" the IRS with my check. Just happens to be the same amount I owe.

That's me, David. Everything I read said that they would keep what you owed if you owe back taxes. I took that to mean that if you owed back taxes, like 2006 or before, not the taxes we just filed. I'm getting a tiny little bit, not even enough to do a tiny percentage of what we needed to do with that money. I feel so betrayed, but why should I be surprised? I hate the federal government!

Does anybody know if they take taxes out of these checks, because my parents was 200$ less than it was suppose to be. That was my dad's only thought. I just don't know why they'd tax a tax check...

Exactly Jeanie! How can you be mad at a goverment who is taking it's own money to pay off itself for you? If you owe tax money you should pay it!!! Like it or not or think it's fair or not we all pay taxes. When people don't pay that are screwing over everyone else who does pay. So now you owe and the goverment is paying it for you and saying it's ok, you don't owe us anymore. How can you not be happy about that!!! Your debt was just cleared for free. I just can't wrap my mind about how some people think. You can't blame the goverment for everything that goes wrong in your life. At some point everyone has to stand up and make it on thier own.
