Sharon, when they did your revision didn't they tighten the opening from the pouch to the small intestines or have they recently told you that? You know if that truly is the case there are things that be done. My doctor does 2 different procedures to fix that. I know people who have had them done and they really do work.

Hang in there sweetie...finish out the week and see how it is going.

Default Beth..

When I had the endoscopy and the upper GI they both confirmed the opening is too large. I was told that they couldn't touch (fix) it because of the prior RNY and scar tissue. What they did fix helped with the other problems, but I am still hungry.

I feel like I'm not doing very well with this pouch test as I'm eatting sooo many calories. Although, as a test, I have not eatten any chocolate (my big down fall), no crackers etc. so it has helped in that way. I've also learned tonight that poached eggs are not firm enough they passed right through and I am still hungry. So I'm at least learning what goes through quickly v.s. what sticks with me a little longer. So scrambled or boiled over poached. Oh and I've drank way more fluids than I usually do. Which is goos as I run slightly dehydrated most of the time. So like I said some good things are coming out of this.

I would like to maybe consider a procedure if I put on weight. I just couldn't handle it. I would like the names and numbers for future refrence if you don't mind. That would be greatly appreciated.

Tomorrow's a new day. Will stick with it, I've come this far, can't stop now.

Sharon

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

For what it's worth, I have been hungry every day of the test so far. The fluids obviously flow right through, but today I started the soft protein. I had scrambled eggs for breakfast and I felt a little uncomfortable in the pouch so I stopped eating them. I was still "hungry" but my pouch felt full. I just had some tuna and had the same result. It made me uncomfortable, but did not stop the hunger.

So for me... the pouch seems to tell me when to stop eating when I eat the right foods but definitely does not when I eat slider foods. The hunger remains, but it's bearable. I also realize that a lot of this is head-hunger and cravings.

Do you get an uncomfortable feeling when you eat soft or solid proteins? If so, maybe your pouch still works but just works differently than you expect. Maybe????
Hang in there!!

Also, where did you find the stats for that? I didn't see them on the site. How much is 1 serving and did you use the light mayo and light sour cream?

The Feta Chicken Salad was AWESOME!! I noticed that the nutritional info was missing too, so I thought we were to use the Turkey Egg Salad info.... then I decided I better check. So, below is the real breakdown:

This is using reg. mayo and reg. sour cream:
Per Serving: 234 Calories; 16g Fat (62.7% calories from fat); 19g Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 66mg Cholesterol; 337mg Sodium.

This is using lite mayo and lite sour cream:
Per Serving: 141 Calories; 6g Fat (36.9% calories from fat); 19g Protein; 3g Carbohydrate; 1g Dietary Fiber; 58mg Cholesterol; 276mg Sodium.

Serves 8.

Thanks a lot Cindy!! I think I will make that some time this coming week for supper. Yeah, I'm with Michelle. I just can't even imagine eating something that high fat. My little pouchie doesn't like high fat foods so I certainly will be lightening this one up a bit.

Thank you so much for figuring out the nutritional stats for me~

I didn't figure it out, the 5DPT peeps told me, so if you are still a little sure about the calculations you might want to add up the info as you make it.
