As far as the mayo--I've probably got 1 1/2 tablespoons total among the three salads. The website didn't mention anything about flavored oils, but said we could have a little mayo.
No protein drinks tomorrow, but I still have to get the fluids in, so I'll be drinking all day. (Thank God I can still have the decaf coffee!) I'll report back tomorrow, but I'm even questioning whether or not I'll be able to eat all of that stuff I put together. Plus, this is only for one day, it's not like I'm doing this all the time.
As for the tuna in oil, I don't know if I can handle it. I'm REALLY funny about fish, and never ate tuna as a kid, because I didn't know you could get it packed in water instead. Even now, I only eat the albacore. The regular kind is too fishy tasting to me.
Also, I've got quite a bit of egg in store for tomorrow. My gas is already kicking at Mach 5...if I lean the right way, I could melt things behind me. Add the eggs to that, and I'm thinking I'll be the most popular (or poopular) person in the gym tomorrow afternoon! I'm dreading the elliptical--it kind of churns me up most days, tomorrow will probably create an ass-hurricane!
If y'all get a quick, warm, foul gust tomorrow around 4:00--it was me! Sorry in advance!

I have my day planned for tomorrow too... I don't know what I will be in the mood for, so below is a list of maybe's...
Cottage cheese w/hard boiled egg mixed in.
Feta chicken salad...just finished making this and hubby says it is awesome...I can't try it until tomorrow.
Protein Shake
Baked tilapia
mmmmmmmmmm.....I am getting hungry just typing this. I might end up losing my appetite because I am definitely coming down with a cold. Major sore throat, ears hurt, post nasal drip...feel crappy. I have been drinking tea and trying not to think about how it hurts every time I swallow.

made it!
I have made it through day 1. I almost caved....but thought I would come here and let Mike make me laugh.. thank you, I was not disapointed and also, I appreciate your flatulance ediquate! Please excuse my pitiful spelling, I am lost with out the auto check.
I did make the cheese soup....I fixed it so it wasn't so thin and I used half broth and half skim milk in case anyone else is interested...it wasn't bad and to tell you the truth, if I hadn't had the soup I am pretty sure I would have caved and had a piece of toast with peanut butter, my staple.
You folks through with day 2 are making me hungry though. Funny how I too am planning my day 3 menu. We are obssesed with food aren't we, It ain't gonna go away either. I had hoped it would have at least dwindled some. I too am a food network junkie. Dinners Drive ins and dives is my most fav at the moment. I begin to drool watching that one......
I think I will finish my hot chocolate.....10 grams of protein, 85 cals
I hope you don't get a full blown bug Cindy....Rest well all
Lori

Breakfast for day 4????
Has anyone considered what you will eat for breakfast for day 4? I'm good for today with the eggs, tuna and cottage cheese, but tomorrow is ground meat. Boiled burger just dosen't sound so great 1st thing in the morning. Boiled burger? If I don't have the option of grilling burgers, I usually put them in a pan on low heat with a touch of water and Montreal Steak seasoning, cover and simmer. Hence "boiled" burger. I'm good with that for lunch and supper (probably grilled for supper if the weather is nice). What about in between meals? If I get the shakes or am hungry? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Sharon

Ok, well day 3 isn't starting out the best here. I got up, took my pills and promptly threw up. Not sure what is pissing my pouch off but I suspect it is a combination of Vicodan, antibiotics and no solid food. Unlike the rest of you my day is pretty unplanned. I'm afraid it's going to have to be what miss pissy will deal with today. I'll try to stick on program but right now not much is sounding very good. So anyway....here it goes...
Day 3
All morning pills...most of them didn't come back up.
Breakfast:
1/2 c low fat cottage cheese: 180 cal, 4 fat, 24 protein
+ another 1/2 c about 45 min later when the first one stayed down ok.
Morning Snack
2 saltines-ok, I know this isn't 'allowed' but I gotta settle this pissy pouch of mine somehow.
25 cal, .5 fat, .5 protein
16 oz Bariatric fruit protein drink-140 cal, 2 fat, 0 sugar, 30 protein
Lunch:
2 saltines: 25 cal, .5 fat, .5 protein
1 tuna Parmesan patty: 78.5 calories/11.5 grams protein/3.5 grams fat
16.9 oz water w/ crystal light
SF Popsicle: 15 cal
16.9 oz water w/ crystal light
Afternoon Snack:
1 cup Slim6 Kefir Low Carb Smoothie: 110 cal, 2 fat, 14 protein
Supper:
3 tuna Parmesan patties: 235.5 calories/34.5 grams protein/10.5 grams fat
16.9 oz water w/crystal light
16.9 oz water w/propel: 5 cal
Totals:
Calories: 814
Protein: 94.5
Water: 67.6
Thankfully Dr Ford ordered me some Phenergan and it seems to have done the trick. Not bad considering I started the day off throwing up. I also did manage to get all of my water in.

I had about 3 oz. of cottage cheese for breakfast with no problems.
Just a few minutes ago, I started on the tuna salad. I only got through about 2 1/2 ounces before I got the hiccups. I was STARVING and thought I would be able to eat more. Hmmmm....seems this IS working...
I'm actually looking forward to this today and am planning on eating about every 2 1/2 - 3 hours...about 2 oz or so at a time, keeping the fluids going all day.
Sorry you're sick Beth--but you're body is still in healing mode, even if it wasn't a huge procedure. (I'm laughing at myself giving advice to a nurse!) Hope you feel better and better as the day wears on.
-Mike

I'm starting with a protein drink...I can't seem to want anything else. No matter how much I goofed up on the ingredients in the drinks, it IS working. I have NO desire for actual food, though I plan on tuna for lunch, maybe some cottage cheese later...not sure. I have no desire to eat at this point. I am thirsty as all get out and was up 1/2 the night to pee.
Don't worry about the gas Mike..you blow out your end of the country, and I will blow it right back at ya....things will even out!
Whatever craving problems I was having...seem to be gone. We shall see though as the day progresses. I did sneak a peak at the scale...I'm down but holding off until Sat. for a full report.

Day 2
Cindy, how are you fairing? Did that bug get ya?
Beth, empty stomach, meds, pretty sure that is the culprit. I hope you feel better
Day 2...I am really pumped, I feel more in control. It is amazing how my outlook on life is change in just a few short hours. To have accomplished something so simple yet so important.
Even though this small post is really insignificant to most, it is what is keeping me honest, my accountability. If no one in the world reads this, I have made it public, my success or failure. Weird how that makes all the difference.
To coin a Zen phrase "its how I roll"
God bless
Lori

OMG ditto this way. I feel like a woman on a water pill!!!!
I didn't find myself very hungry yesterday. I have finally nailed down a delicious recipe for my daily protein drink. I'm attributing this to my culinary training. The downtime from food is giving me a lot to think about. But the results are good.
Beth, sorry to hear you're not well. I hope today is much better than the last! Green tea might settle your stomach.
Zen, what flavors are you using? I might have some suggestions.

I hear ya, Mike....and even nurses need to get advised once in awhile. You know often we are the worst patients. *L* I haven't had Vicodan since 4 am but still really foggy headed and queezy. Seems this little procedure is kicking my butt!! I'm just sitting here in my recliner with my feet up, ice packs stuffed all around me, my protein drink and an emergency pan. sheeesh, I better start feeling better soon! I got another antibiotic to take in a couple hours. Oh goodie.....
