Default Weekend With Italian Obesita E Dintorni

Buon Giorno Tutti,
This weekend I and Bernardo met the Italian Forum for gastric operations and those interested in them.
We spent the weekend in the central Tuscani regione in the Chianti area between Florence and Sienna. It was a great time to actually meet the people face to face, use my Italian language skills and be in the beautiful region of Chianti.
I wanted to share this with our group here as a push for the Cruise we will go on together this year. It is really great to meet the people that you share with and support on the forums. It was really a great experience for myself and my partner.
Some of us staying in hotel in Tavernella (FI) and there was a dinner at one of the ladies country farms Saturday night that about 12 members attended and then on Sunday afternoon there was a luncheon at a ristorante in the Sienna chianti wine region in Volpaia, a little old village high on one of the many hilltops of the region.
I have attached a couple photos of the luncheon here and have posted a new album of the weekend under my personal section if you'd like to see other photos of some of the foods we ate, area photos and some people from the group. This group is aware of Thinner Times and have been invited on our cruise. Their forum is OBESITA' & DINTORNI FORUM some of the members here in Italy have registered on Thinner Times now, so you might want to take a look at the site and try to manuever there, many members can read English too.

How fun, Paul!! It is awesome to get to meet so many of your internet friends. I so wish I could make the cruise but I'm afraid it isn't looking real good in the finance department. We shall see what happens.

Thanks for the pictures and I'm glad you had a wonderful time.

Paolo, che bel gruppo e che snello e bello sei - belle foto! Mi piacerebbe molto conoscere gli altri del gruppo nel nostro viaggio marino - devo praticare il mio italiano prima del viaggio...

That's so cool. I love "meet and greets" with internet friends. I hope some of them will join us. I wish I could remember the two years of Italian I took in college. (that was many, many years ago )

I agree Claire and a few folks have advised me on the site here, that they have spoken Italian in the past or know some now and that is a great. I also learned that many of the Italian at the weekend gathering I attended speak a little English.
This would be a great opportunity for making friends who have common threads and International connections.
Went out clothes shopping last night and saw a nice Italian suit jacket, but when I saw the cost in euro my lower jaw hit the floor. I think I will wait until we are in the USA next month and hit the outlet mall in the Portland area.

Paul, you will have great fun shopping in the US!!! I have bought so many of my in-between clothes, especially, in high end re-sale shops, particularly the local Hospice Boutique. Good cause, great clothes!

Looking forward to hearing more about your Italian friends!!!
