I would like you to meet my new fur baby
As many of you know I had to say good-bye last week to my 21 year old fur child, Flower. It's been a rough few days and I really miss her. My daughters have been moping around and showing me all kinds of pictures of adoptable fur babies. Well with minimal persuasion they were able to talk us into adopting a new baby. It didn't take much because to tell you the truth, despite the fact that there were still 2 cat fur children and 2 dog fur children in the house, it just felt that something was missing in our home after Flower died.
Well I wanted to introduce you to our new fur baby. Her name is Willow and she is an 8 week old rescue kitty. She's helped fill the hole that Flower left though I still miss Flower like crazy. She's already made friends with her dog sisters but her cat sisters are still not too sure about her but I know it will come with time.
Thank you all for your thoughts and words of comfort that you left for me and my family. They truly were appreciated.
I also thought I would include pictures of Willow's cat sisters. Selena is 3 and Maryel (black cat) is 13. DH picked Maryel up off the street one day. She was in the road right next to the curb. No idea how she ever got there. I'm thinking someone threw her there. She was flea infested, had worms, literally fit into the palm of my hand and weighed only 0.8 pounds, 2 weeks after we found her. I'm sure she was less than that when DH picked her up off the street. The vet thought that she was about 4 weeks old. She's my miracle baby.

hehehe...isn't she the cutest thing? I totally fell in love the minute I looked at that little face....and she is a real snuggler. She just climbed up into my lap a little while ago and cuddled right in, purring away. I think she likes her new home.

How sweet! I wish my Zena was a snuggler! SHe's part feral and has regressed some since Linus came her, and since she was declawed. (within one week of each other) She was just getting comfy sitting in my lap before I turned her world upside down. She'll get over. Eventually. Linus, is NOT a snuggler. lol He likes his neck/ears scratched. He lets ya know when he's done... he shows his teeth!!!!

Rescue animals are THE BEST! They are so grateful to have a real home of their own! Willow is adorable - and I KNOW she loves her new home and mommy already!
Congrats to you all!

hehehe...yeah, its nice to have a snuggler. Flower was my snuggler. Selena only snuggles on really rare occasions and Maryel? Well usually its only when I go to bed at night. She insists on sleeping with us. I have noticed though that as she has aged she has become a lot more social than she used to be.
Give your babies time, it will come.

awww, thanks Katie. Yep, all of our fur children are rescue animals...well except Maryel, but we rescued her up off the street ourselves. All of the others came from rescue agencies.

Ooooh, she is such a cute little baby kitty! And Willow is such a pretty name. Give all of your fur babies belly rubs from me.
Tomorrow is my eldest cat's 2nd b-day (he will be 2 years old). I must make sure I get him (and the other 2) a special treat to celebrate!

hehehe...I'll do that Sherry. All 3 of them love belly rubs. Flower was the one fur baby that HATED her belly rubbed. She only liked her head and neck rubbed.
Hope you and your fur babies enjoy the Birthday tomorrow!

Rescuing your Maryel off the street definitely counts too! My 2 older cats are from rescue groups, but our 10 month old kitten was dropped off in our neighborhood when she was only about 6 weeks old...and was nearly dead by the time we found her. Despite our best efforts, she lost the sight in one eye to feline herpes....and clearing up the fleas, lice (yes lice!), worms, and bad respiratory infection just took a lot of medication, and TCL....oh yeah, and vet bills, lol.
