Bernardo and I have been traveling internationally for the past 6 years between Europe and the USA. Each and every time we have come to the USA or returned to Italy we have had anywhere from 5 - 15 bottles of wine and spirits inside our checked luggage. This wont be a problem for us to bring something with us.
We were considering bringing a variety of wine from Italy(Tuscany(red, chianti), local Carrara/Massa(white, Candia), North Italy(white, Mùller Thurgau) and Sicilian(red, Nero D'Avola) and perhaps a grappa and lemoncello). We'll see what we can fit into our luggage. Since we are traveling Internationally we can have 2 checked bags each, however on this trip we are trying for one checked bag each and one carry-on each, we'll see as usually we have clothes that would last a month for 2 weeks. hahaha
Buon fine settimana a tutti. Have a great weekend everyone.
Abbracci e baci.
Hugs and kisses.

Hate to tell you guys but I've just read that you can't bring alcohol on ship. I got this on NCL's website - after you log in, it's inder NCL Frequently Asked Questions:
Quote:
What can't I bring onboard?
Passenger is not allowed to bring on board the vessel without the previous written permission of the Carrier any intoxicating liquors, or beverages, firearms, weapons of any kind, ammunition, explosive substances or any goods of a dangerous nature, nor animals of any kind, except service or guide animals, provided the passenger notifies Carrier prior to the cruise of his intention to bring such animal and agrees to take sole responsibility for any expense, damage, injuries or losses associated with or caused by such animal.

Just thought!
Can we get a group photo? I'd really like that.

Thank you, Corrine! That is such great info, but will be so disappointing to our Italian friend(s).
Yes, we can get a group photo in two ways - there is a photographer on board, and/or we can make an appointment with him/her. Or we can do it ourselves with our own cameras, asking someone outside of our group to take our picture - with our sun visors!!

Could you get that written permission?
(My life glass is half-full (ah, Italian wines!), full of optimism for you guys!)
Just a hope!
Cheers,
Vim

Hmm, there's a thought. I encourage Paul to contact NCL about that permission, since they are the ones traveling with the wine, and NCL may have specific questions to ask of them. Good idea, Vim!

Will Check with NCL.
Thanks for checking the NCL site and seeing that good info. I will contact NCL and see what they require, as one night it might be nice for those that would like to enjoy. However not the end of the world if it is a matter of jumping through red tape hoops.
We just had dinner tonight with our Italian friends Andrea and Nicola, they like us are looking forward to the cruise.
Will keep you all posted as well as I am asking our cruise contact about the need for wearing a tie or bow tie at the formal dinner.
Ciao tutti.
Paul

Paul, take ties with you, as well as shirts to wear it with. I was told that the Captain's dinner required ties, but when we went, no one wore one, so Glen had his in his pocket.
Good to have them, just to be on the safe side.

Well, I agreed to cover for our local Post Master so that she could a long needed vacation in with her east coast grandies. It was a bit hit and miss as to whether she could go because of my recent surgery but there's nothing I'd have done to make sure she didn't miss her trip.
And it's a good job too. Without something to occupy me, my excitement is driving poor DH insane! lol I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve!
My bedroom looks like a train wreck right now - everything laid out in neat piles - notes everywhere - trying to colour coordinate my undies (new of course)!
