Smile Small Successes

Hi everyone. I dont post too often, but I read daily. I need to just jump in here a litte more, but today I just wanted to share some small successes I have had.

I had my surgery on 1/14/08. It went wonderfully. I have had NO ISSUES whatsoever. Its amazing. I have lost 31 pounds since surgery, and 3 pant sizes!! I feel really great most days, but I sure wish my weight loss was a bit faster.

I have been in a stall for over 2 weeks now where I gain and lose the same pound. I know this is normal to stall, but it has been really getting me down. I want to see some more weight come off, I cannot be done yet!! I am a lightweight, so I know it will just be slower....But its still hard.

I have also found myself faltering recently. I have eated a piece of bread, and a few pieces of chocolate recently. I hate myself for doing it, but today is a new day. I am done. I will not let it happen today. I will not go back. I will succeed. Thanks for letting me vent about this...

This is a wonderful group, and I am thankful for each of you out there posting It brings me lots of joy to read here every day. Hope all is well out there Have a wonderful day.

Yes, the stall is normal and verrryyyy frustrating. Stay on course and the scale will move again. I'm sure you've read this before, but while the scale doesn't change, your inches are probably changing instead. Your body takes a time out every now and then and plays 'catch-up'.

STAY AWAY FROM THE BREAD AND CHOCOLATE!!! Why are you trying to sabotage yourself? You've got the power to control what goes in your body and while you're in this "honeymoon" phase you've got to take advantage of the opportunity for the rapid weightloss and not jinx it by eating the wrong things. For a few days, increase your protein and exercise and I bet you'll see that scale start moving again.

How often are you weighing? If at all possible, try to weigh just once a week. I can hardly do this myself, but I know it's good advice. LOL

Good luck and keep posting if it's what keeps you honest and motivated. YOU CAN DO IT!

Thanks Robin. I have been really trying to figure out WHY THE HECK I AM SABOTAGING MYSELF TOO!!! I dont know why I have eaten these things. It really makes me mad. But today, it stops. I hope I have not gotten to the point of no return already, I really want to make my goal, and I am determined to do it. I think I just had a moment of weakness, and now its over.

Thank you for the tough love, and I have been trying to step up the protein and exercise. Today will be the day, I can feel it!!

Thanks again for your reply. I really appreciate the support.

Anytime! You should read some of miladyb's thread she started about why we eat or get some of the books she recommended.

Love, Loss, and What I Ate
My Mother, My Appetite

Maybe you'll find the answer to your self-sabbotage. Happy to provide the kick if you need it.

Hey girl,
Thanks for posting...enjoy your honeymoon period! The stalls are totally normal. The further out you get, the more difficult it gets to control the cravings and little stupid food things that add up to trouble. Congrats on your successes so far.

Hello!

I had surgery the same day as you....it is definitely a roller-coaster ride, isn't it?! I think you have the right idea...you ate WRONG...but get over it and don't continue eating that crap! You know...THIN people do not eat 100% on program...so why should we expect to be 100% ALL the time? I'm not saying you should eat those things...but forgive yourself and move on. We need to enjoy this honeymoon stage and work it for all it's worth!

Good luck and keep us posted on your progress...you can do it!
