Just think how much money we save by not getting perms anymore!
Don't feel bad....I had this phase where I was trying (REALLY HARD) to convince myself that I was just as straight as I could be, I got my hair cut (think Mama Cass), then had it permed, then tried wearing makeup every day. *shudders to think of it*...my kids call it my 'Tammy Faye Baker Phase'. I decided I'd rather be a no-make-up, no-leg-shaving, no-purse-carrying L-E-S-B-I-A-N!!!

I think the world at large is a lot happier now. I know I am! And guess what? I occasionally wear make up, I shave my legs, and I carry a purse! (gotta have room for all my stuff, ya know) And I'm still a (shhhh!) dyke!

Hey Duckie - remember "mall bangs" (aka burrito bangs)? I had 'em. I also had a short "do" I lovingly call my "Flock of Seagulls" do. What the heck was I thinking?!

The hair is not that bad. I had long straight hair most of my life. Then the "feathering" phase came to town. My Dad didn't like it so we had to go back to long one length hair. It was the only thing he was "the man of the house about". He liked long hair on his girls. Dady gets what Daddy wants!

Okay... this is your CLASSIC 1978 family photo (pardon the orange hue due to age).

OMG, Duckstress, how much do you look like your mom?!?!? Your youngest bro looks just like your dad, too. It's a nice picture of your family, and I'm so sorry you've lost your mom too soon.

Whitney, as much as I love you too, and know that you love me, you have to LOVE me, iykwim.....and it's not just a toaster, grrl, that kind of commitment gets you not only a wonderful partner through life, BUT ALSO a toaster OVEN. Just let me know when you're ready, Love!

Michelle, I think my 1978 inner child (age 13) has fallen in love with your older brother. That hair! That suit! That big, big polyester collar in the acid-trippy earthtone geometric pattern! He is the epitome of Disco Dreaminess to which my 13 -year old self aspired! Please don't tell me that he's now a middle-aged troll like so many other disco bunnies - it would break my heart. Just let me hold onto my Saturday Night Fever fantasy a little longer...

By the way, Donna, I never got the toaster when I came out - guys get a souffle pan. What the @#$&*% was I supposed to do with that?!? I don't cook! I made it into a fabulous hat...

Default Color Correction

Duckie... I did a little color correction --- you could also turn it B&W... but the "Orange" does have a certain "glow" about it!
