...where is it on your body....and what is it?

I got a tattoo on my daughter's 40th birthday, 2.5 years ago (she got one, too!). It is a lovely little butterfly on the outside of my left ankle, with the angle of it as though it were flying to my heart. It is outlined in black, with black antennae, and has lovely pink, red and turquoise colors in it.

Oh, and her name is Delilah....

I love it!

I have a rose on above the left breast. I got it on christmas day in 1999. It is small and red with the stem and a leaf it is about to bloom . My family hates it , But they didnt even know that i had it for about three years. I cant wait to get more .

I have a fleur de lei, which is the symbol of France and the symbol used by the New Orleans Saints. I grew up in New Orleans, so I have the tatoo to commemorate that. It is on my left upper hip. I got this in Dec 1998.

I have 2 naked girls on my back (a demon and a fairy). The fairy is sitting in a tree, and the demon is under her on a rock. I've yet to get the tree coloured. I also have a "tramp stamp" of my astrological sign.

I have one! I got it about 3 years ago and no-one in my family knows about it!
It's a lady bird climbing up musical notes on my lower back.
I can't wait until I've lost enough weight to actually show it off though!

I did mine on a whim - expecting just to accompany my daughter for her tattoo. I didn't discuss it with my husband first. And afterward I got VERY nervous!!! I called him (I was in CT, we live in TX), and he was totally delighted. And he still is.

Now that I am thinner, my ankles are also thinner, and when I move my ankle, it looks like the wings of the butterfly are flapping!

i have 7 of them........there's a thread to post pics in the picture section.......i moved to texas 4 years ago, my mom got her first at 50 on her first visit to texas.........they were illegal in oklahoma until last year.....so, it's become a bit of a tradition that when my parents visit, my mom, dad, and me all go get tattoos.........might add my sister this spring break cuz she just turned 18

i've got 4. a black cat on my right calf. a hibiscus flower on my left shoulder. and the words "ad astra" (right. to the stars) "per aspera" (left. through thorns.) across my wrists.
