Hey Kelly,

I found an older smokers thread from November.

Can I ask if the Chantix worked for you??? From what I hear you have really crazy vivid dreams and some insomnia. ??? Did you take it? What was your experience?

YES chantix did work.I did have problems with some side effects though.I could only take half without puking.Very crazy dreams and some insomina.My dh will not take it anymore because of the insomina.I only took it for two weeks and went the rest of the way on my own.Lately tho I have been feeling like having a ciggarette but I am being a good girl because I only have a little ways to go.I guess it makes it harder because dh does still smoke.The other thing is if everyone at work smokes then it makes it much harder.I used to work for the IRS and everyone was outside puffing away so that made it really really hard to quit.I did it though and I am ready for surgery!!1

I might have come across as rude and I am sorry. I do have some friends that are smokers But I have to lay down the law. They either have to smoke outside or not all when at my house. My child can't go near them because the smell puts her into an asthma attack. Its very scary when you can't breathe so I try to prevent that at all costs for my child. Some people just have that strong smell and others don't. Its strange.

I have given up three weeks ago in prearation for forthcoming palstics. I so miss my ciggies!

However, I do feel better for it! I just really miss having a fag now and then!

No offense taken. I imagine I would feel strongly against smoking as well if it affected my kiddo that way.

A quote you might like from my childhood pastor;

"Smoking won't send you to hell. You'll just smell like you've been there."

I don't smoke around children. I dispose of my butts properly. I try to be a kind smoker.

And Congrats Kelly, it's worth it!!

Congrats to you too. Week three was the most difficult for me and others who have quit. You've almost won the battle. You can do it.

Thank you! I still think about cigarettes about 10000 times a day so I know I have not battled it yet! I had to give up alcohol as well as I know I would smoke if I drank.

So no food, no smokes and no alcohol!!!! Aaaaargh!

PS. Im from the UK so fag = cigarette. Apologies!
