I have just had the best birthday a girl can wish for:

Dennis went over to Paris, for the weekend, to meet up with his best friend and my best friend, Karen (we went to boarding school in SA and have known each other for 19 years), came down from the north of England to spend the weekend with me.

On Saturday we went to a local Beauty Salon and opted for the whole caboodle - " a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do" and then went for a coffee at the Windsor Farm Shop.

On Sunday we got up early and went to the gym (jip - not a typo - THE GYM) - Karen ran like a maniac on the treadmill for 30 min, while I did a steady 15 min on the crosstrainer and then 10 min power walking on the treadmill and 5 min on the bike. We then went into the jacuzzi for 15 min and sat in the sauna for 1 min and 5 sec in the steamroom and then Karen dragged me into the swimmingpool for a couple of laps

We then went over to my Mother's for a lovely roast lunch, had an afternoon nap and went to the movies in the evening: Sweeney Todd

On Monday (yesterday) we went into London and had our make-up done at MAC in Chelsea on the King's Road. Came away with a few products......

All-in-all a very girlie weekend and probably the healthiest weekend Karen and I have ever spent together. Karen has always been very aware of her weight and always kept an eye on it and we discussed how she was afraid that my RNY would change the dynamics of our friendship because she always knew that when she came to visit me it was an excuse for a right real pig out and she was afraid that she would miss that..... but now we've realised that there are other more enjoyable things that we can do together - more expensive but definitely more satisfying!

Karen went home late afternoon yesterday and Dennis returned from Paris. We've both taken today off and are spending a leasurely day together....

Although Wednesdays are my "official weighday" I jumped on the scale this morning and I now weight the same as what I weighed back in Dec 2001 - 96.3kg (212lb) - a weight that I never thought I would see again and the lowest I've been in my adult life - it is now all the way downhill to 80kg (176lb), my personal goal!

Thanks to ThinnerTimes and all of the wonderful Peeps on here who has made my journey, so far, an easy ride
