Neuroma???
Ok, I went back to the doctor today. My gallbladder surgery did not take the left side pain I was having away....very frustrated with the pain, getting to the point where I went to the ER yesterday. Granted, I didn't see anyone and after a three hour wait, I left. I got to see my surgeon this afternoon and he thinks what I have is a neuroma. He gave me a pretty painful shot of cortizone and litacaine (sp?) and said the cortizone would help it go away. Has anyone had one of those in the belly area? I did a search and only came up with feet neuroma's. I was in serious pain yesterday!!! I want that to be gone! It's also pretty scary given the whole history of my complications anyway. I'm ready to be just me....and want the me to be pain free. Anyone have this and can give me advice, how long this will take, etc...greatly appreciated!!! I'm set for a cruise with SirMikey next month (same one Claire went on!!) and want to be ready for anything with that!!!

Thanks Whitney!! I've been able to eat tonight - so the pain is definately diminished. The doc told me the litacaine would provide about 18 hours of numbing - then hopefully in a few days the cortizone will kick in too. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I only had very painful neuromas in my feet. 5 surgeries later on different areas, I am ok. Weight was always a factor...so they said, but even when I was thinner, they hurt until they surgically took them out.

Hi... I just did a search on the group about neuroma's.. I'm seeing a specialist tomorrow to see if the pain in my foot is due to "Morton's Neuroma".. is that what your diagnosis was for?
If so, I'd love to know more about your situation.. and what other options they tried (if any??)...
The idea of more surgery .. scares me!
