Angry Stricture again

Ok for those of you that read the post stricture or Flu and are wondering it is a stricture. I had an appointment this morning at 11:00 a.m. Told the good Ol doc what was going on and immediatly he new. Schedule her for an EGD as soon as poosible. Well the as soon as possible came Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. So, back to liquids I go. He did notice that I was a little stressed( )was concerned about a stomach ulcer he said he would look for those as well. So, here is my schedule. Thursday go see the urologist for my husband and friday have a stretch done. Oh yeah he let me come home because I can keep in fluids. As long as I can keep in fluids there is really no need to admit me but if I start vomiting the fluids then I go to the ER and an over night stay is required. To be honest I was hoping for the you got the flu go home and go to bed. Or your just to stressed calm down and things will go back to normal but no I had to have a stricture. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH For those of you that are really wondering this will be EGD number 5 and stricture number three. Please tell me it ends soon!!!!!!!!!!!

He knows why I lost weight rapidly. He says its because of the strictures. But he thinks I'm doing good. other then the strictures.

I meet my surgeon next week --- and I'm going to give him your scenario:

Quote:
"Vomiting for 4 days" confirmed to be a stricture on MONDAY --- how long til a scope?
I'll let you know... since I'm pre-op, he'll probably say, "Oh, that same day as diagnosis..." Ya right! I think it's outrageous you have to wait!!!

Be strong hon!

PS: I think Laura/Zenomia had 5 strictures! Closer together than you tho....

I have sent a personal message to Zen. The only reason he knows that is what it is because last time he stretched he didn't stretch me to the max. So, he knew that he would have to do it again. It was just a matter of when. He wanted to do it tomorrow but the one day surgery was full to the max and there was no opening until friday. Beleive me he was quite upset about this. As a matter of fact he is still fighting to get me in tomorrow if possible. because he knows if he waits to long its only going to get worse. I will be strong as always. Like I told my father in law I'll get through I always do.

Your surgeon does the stretches/scope? When I asked my surgeon at a info-meeting, he said "We send you down the hall to get scoped," implying that a radiologist or someone else does the job... another question to add to my list!

I love your fortitude...

Question A Question...

Hi-- I didn't read the other pages (I'll go there in a minute...) but how did you feel when you called the Doc? Were you vomiting everything? Could you hold some fluids, but not others? I had my labRNY on Dec. 12, and so far have lost 40lbs, but can't keep anything down. My one-month pre-op is the 17th. I am living on water and protein drinks and occasionally, soup, but I "Lose" anything pureed. Was this like your scenario?

Yes Katie (mom) he does all his own due to the fact that he knows us and our needs. Besides that if there happens that something goes wrong he is right there. In the room with us are a radiologist, and anthesia tech a nurse and cardic specialist. He also has his on call people " just in case'' personally i wouldn't have it any other way. he did the surgery and he is going to see that I am succeful and that if he did somthing at fault HE will fix it and not push it to someone else. I am very forward all you have to do is ask.

My first stricture I couldn't keep anything down. It required a ten day stay in the hospital lots of pain meds and anti nausea meds. The second one wasn't quite as bad. I still had a hard time with everything and there was alot of pain involved. This one very little pain . As far as fluids they have to be in water like state. nothing thick or chunky. as a matter of fact the doctor told me to water down my protein shakes. yes he put me back on them. if i were you i would call the doctor tomorrow just to be sure. you may have a slight stricture but I am not a doctor.
