I don't get it... why couldn't he stretch it to the max?

I have a pretty good vision of this... my DH had a tube into his belly for a year (long story)... and his body kept healing around it... he had to go in frequently to have the skin "trimmed" down... an external image of what a stricture must look like - altho they are stretching it back open, not "trimming" as they did on him...

Poor You! I hope this is the last of the strictures...

Katie

PS: Especially hard for you with two little ones... hugs Desiree!!!

so i dunno if this pertains to anything...but i'd like to share it.
5 or so years ago my cousin had gastric bypass before christmas...and he was in the hospital for a month... he had leaks and stuff...very bad...it was all due to a injury he had when he was a little kid, anyway he had a stricture and he had to get it stretched every other maybe every 2 days....
when he finally got out of the hospital for about 3 months every week he had to get it stretched it was a rough time for him. (he would do it again even though he had all these problems)

So i asked my doc why people get strictures...and he said when doctors are making the stomach theres different size holes they use and some use closer to the smallest hole and some use closer to the biggest... lets ay its a 1-5... my cousins doctor was using a 1.5, luckily my doctor is using a 3.5.
atleast thats what he told me. he said it works just as effectively but because that gets a little smaller he prefers to use that size, he has less problems that way.

i dunno if that helped but i remember asking questions about this so i wanted to share...

Awe...you know the road. Take it easy in there...they will pump you full of lovely Lactated Ringers, and probably something for the pain and nausea. You'll be good as new in no time!! (Glad your going in...) And why on earth would I sas you about Gatoraid. Heck, getting anything through is a miracle. I doubt you got enough in to even cause a sugar reaction. I will be crossing my fingers for a 15mm stretch!! Take care!!

Default Good Luck to you!

What a shame, Desiree,
The nausea is so tiresome, isn't it? I didn't have strictures, but I had terrible nausea and some other stuff. I remember everything coming up, feeling sooo nauseated, no drugs helped a whole lot. I hope they are doing this for the last time on you!
