Also i didnt mean to offend anyone, i just simply making a observation based on some things I have read and heard from other who were at the same point as me being only weeks post-op.. i was not calling anyone a bad person for eating carbs, sweets whatever....hey when im two years post-op i hope to god i can have a little bit more food and go to restuarants with friends and maybe even have a glass of wine here and there....i know everyone is in the same boat and we are all trying to do the best we can to get healthy! Good luck!

I agree, in moderation all things are possible. For me, and others like me though, moderation is just that one step off the slippery slope that got us in trouble in the first place. I CANNOT, no matter how HARD I try, reprogram my brain to think a little bit will be enough. My stomach can be full...I can be satisfied...yet my HEAD still says ...eat MORE...it's yummy!!!!!!! I am completely unable to moderate myself. I have my husband around to moderate for me, as I would fall back into hoarding food, hiding it, what-not, to get it. I KNOW the wrong of it...it's a matter of making it work for me. I cannot tempt myself with moderation..some people can't...it's just too hard. Call me weak, call me a stupid, but I can't seem to fix that one flaw in my character. So it bothers me too to hear about people who CAN eat small bits of this stuff and have no problem. Me...I just can't risk it, and when I do...I fall and fall hard! Welcome to the world of "maintenance", it's not all it's cracked up to be!!

Yup!!
I agree with everyone. You have to find what works for you, because we're all different!! Me, I LOVE LOVE LOVE bread - but really can't eat it post op, makes me very sick. So, I can eat some things and follow the moderation thing, but I don't deny myself anything else - just the bread. Really, that's a good thing for me though, if I could eat it, I'd fail!
P.S. Beth - love your saying!! I see it's the same as mine!!

Just showing the flipside at three years post op.I still make mistakes, the learning game never ends.
I did say I agreed with the post just wanted to tell people that at almost three years out You have a ton of choices and it is all about Moderation, protions and Toleration.
Wishing All much continued success always,

i'm sure i am one this applies too. I am 2 1/2 weeks post op and have tried just about everything. Of course i tried chewing it up "pureeing" it in my mouth but it usually came back up. You know most of us are / were morbidly obese not just because, but for myself I am a totally food addict. I discovered this last week when i was sampling almost all foods yea ok bad me, but thats what i am an addict of food. Its not because i wasnt "informed" or instructed like some like to think, its because the addiction is far stronger then anything. I am learning now to love sugar free liquids (crystal light and protein water) and actually sugar free pudding if i am craving sweets.
You didnt sound mean in your post at all some of us need that spanking. But just realize it might be harder for some of us to "kick the food habbit" This is a new way of life for myself so it will take me a few more months to adjust to my new eating ways but i'm exctied to start the salads, veggies etc! Its like i'm craving to be healthy now finally
