I cannot believe it! I have been approved for surgery from my Insurance!!! I am so excited I cannot wait. I dont think I am even supposed to know yet, they called to tell me about some program they have for bariatric patients that gives you access to a nurse that is tracking your case from the very start. I am excited they have these programs, I can see the benifit of having access to someone for many reasons!! But again, SHE SAID I WAS APPROVED FOR MY UPCOMING SURGERY!!!!!!!! Now if only I can find out when that will be and I will be all set. I think it will be within the next two weeks!! I cannot wait. I am scared to death, but so ready!!! And on top of that, they approved me in less that 24 hours. Paperwork submitted yesterday, they called back yesterday and told the surgeons office that I was approved Wow, what a way to end the year! Wow! It is really going to happen!This is amazing news!! Thanks for listening!!! I am just so excited. I will keep you all posted on when I actually get to have it! So anxious!

Just curious - who is your insurance carrier? Sounds similar to what Aetna does... assigning a "case manager" to keep track of you through the process... Mine actually called to find out why my surgery was cancelled! I freaked!!!

Somehow they thought I was having lap band on Dec 14... I didn't get approval from them until Dec. 10! They must think surgeons are just sitting around twiddling their thumbs waiting for the next approval... and that a thing such as a 2-week pre-op diet does NOT exist... ya, right!

CONGRATS again!!! I feel your excitement!!!

Blue Cross of California I couldnt be happier. I have had superb coverage for most everything I have needed. I feel very blessed. If I could only get my surgery date now I would love that!!

I am happy to hear about your approval. That was fast, mine was 3-4 days and that was with Docs nurses calling cigna every day to check on my case. Cigna had a nurse call me also but I never could hook up with her. We played phone tag several days. I did have my surgery almost exactly two weeks from date of my approval. Congrats again!

Nov 9th 2007=7 weeks 288!
Jan 2 2008=275
Feb 8 2008=262
July 9 2008 = 210 somwhere around 130 pounds lost
July 24, 2008 size 12 from a size 28!

July 27th weighed in on my new scale I got for birthday (soon as I woke/naked) Weighed 198! = 140lb lost!
