Wii sports comes with the Wii, you are thinking of Wii Play. That comes with more sports like games and a controller (well at least it is like that in Canada).

*hugs her Wii*

It is a great system for the entire family, IMO. What a journey to find one, wow.

I have looked at the adverts for the Wii and think it would be awesome to have--it would be a way I could indulge in my favorite sport that I can no longer do because of my back--golf. I do see it as a family thing, and I would LOVE to have one.....

....but as mentioned before, it's out of the question, unless Santa brings one for me. I might just as well ask Santa for an Escalade....

I guess I'm a Scrooge too, there's no way I would go through all of that for a video game thingie. BUt then again my kids have never played video games, they are 20 and 12, just not much interest I guess. Plus they seem so expensive, to me anyway. I say go outside!!! LOL I do admire your perserverance at finding the thing! I am in need of a crystal or glass chandelier for my daughter's doll house. If you come across one of those, let me know!!

I don't why there is such a shortage of Wii's in the US. In Germany, they have lots in every store. Too bad you didn't mention it earlier and I could have arranged to ship you one. Also, we have lots of Nintendo DS Lite's which I also think are a shortage over there.

While a great idea, I don't think it would work. Game systems are built for different regions of the world and games bought in one region (North America for example) will not work on a system bought in another. I believe in the gaming industry (don't quote me, it's been almost 3 years since I quit working for Sony), there are 3 regions...the Americas (North and South), Europe, and Asia. DH and I had a discussion about this not long ago, as he was miffed that a game he wanted was available in Asia, but would not be shipped to Canada anytime soon.

I would love one for myself. They are great for exercise/cardio stuff. I am not going through hell to get one though.
I commend you for your perseverence though! Way to go Auntie!

I remember that. There's a 10 year age difference between my and my youngest sister. My mom spent the night camped out in front of a store for that for my sis. I guess that's where we get it from. My mom always wanted us to get what we wanted, within reason, for Christmas. So, she did her hardest to find those unfindable toys.

Shoot, she didn't even offer to pay for my train ticket! I went because I didn't want her to be there overnight by herself.
