Katie & Laura meet at Comfort Suites for Breakfast 12/08/07 --- What a crazy and fun hour together!!! Laura and Gary were in town to meet another friend, and it worked out for us to have a little time together too... A last minute opportunity - and I'm so glad it worked out for all!

Laura is as fun as you'd imagine her to be... cute and TINY as a little button! She showed me her belly button and her faint scars from her "butt & gut" surgery a few months ago...

It was nice to meet another husband/wife team to see the support Laura's had on this journey. Gary is so supportive and knowledgable on the surgery... an expert on strictures and a good sport to sit and listen to us gab on and on!!! I have to say I'm envious of the spousal support... not that my DH is not in favor of the surgery --- he's just off in his own little world these days, and not too tuned in to my life.

So - who's passing through Madison next???? Can't wait to meet more of you all!!!

Awww...Katie, you are a complete DEAR!

I swear to you all, Katie is one of the most beautiful people I have ever met. She has an inner light that just makes you happy and want to shine as BRIGHT! And my GOODNESS can that woman DRAW! If you haven't guessed from her screename...she draws cartoons and such, and OH MY, the talent my husband and I saw today...was just amazing! I was nearly speechless with awe at the Christmas card she made for me!!!!! It's just amazing! Gary and I tried to talk her into submitting some of her work...get it published....she really is spectacular!!

Now...I know her DH will come around when things aren't bothering him so much, but until then....I have to say that I am honored to count Katie as one of my Thinner Times Friends... This world is a much better place for having Katie in it! I think we can all give her the "high fives and kuddos" and support she needs...we can fill in the gap...at least until the GAP catches up. (Am I talking in circles again?)

I know after meeting the few on here that I have, that I am DYING to meet everyone else!! The kind, considerate and warm people I have met her have really touched my life in so many ways...I count myself one lucky woman...very lucky to have had this opportunity!!!

Thanks Katie....Your a GEM! Next time, I promise...a real breakfast and SHOPPING!!!! (With a little...Starbucks??? Well, for me... LOL!!!)

Re: My artwork... someday the right person will come along and "discover" me --- they'd better hurry up, I'm not getting any younger!

I do cartoon for our local (weekly) newspaper... and have been published in the Madison paper as well... most of my artwork is private commissioned work... not enuff to make a living at, but enuff to keep my drawing hand busy!
