I tend to laugh or giggle at very inappropriate times and I know it's because i'm nervous, but I have to learn how to stop. The first time I saw my surgeon, I almost slapped his hands away when he was examining my stomach. Then I went to my other doctor, because I had a bad stomach, I did the same thing. Last week I went for a check up and the doctor order an EKG (I think that's what it's called) I couldn't stop laughing. The nurse had to tell me where to place the patches because I couldn't stop from moving everytime she came near. How can I control this, I mean if I do get my surgery i'm going to have to deal with people poking at me. Today my niece pointed to my stomach, when I lifted my arm and I almost knocked her off the bed. Believe it or not it's actually very fustrating to be so ticklish, but how can you control an automatic response.

Hi Blay!

I was smiling as I read your post because I can just picture you slapping all the surgical staff at the hospital!!! I guess if you are slapping and laughing, you are the textbook description of "slap-happy". LOL

Pre-surgery...it will just be funny. Post-surgery, you will be so tired and medicated that you won't care if the medical staff, your family, or even the janitor touches your tummy while you are in the hospital.
