Default Kind of a dumb, non-gbs question . . .

What is DH short for? I see it in a lot of posts and it always makes my head tilt with a "Huh?"

I thought about it for a while and all I got was Designated Hitter, but I see a lot of people using the term to refer to spouses, so I hope (and assume) that isn't what they are talking about.

I always used DH to refer to "Dear Husband", or as in Jeff's post, it could be damn husband, divorced, dead, etc depending on what the post is about. But generally it means dear.

Same goes when people talk about their children.
DD = dear daughter
DS = dear son
SO = significant other
MIL, BIL, FIL, SIL = mother, brother, father, sister in law respectively.
