Default Surgery Date

I have a surgery date of 3/21 and am wondering if there is anyone else with the same date? I feel nervous but excited. I've been seeing all these activities that I will be able to do like sit in an airplane seat comfortably, ride a zip line down a mountain, ride a bike... you get the idea. I hadn't realized how much I had reduced my life experiences because of my weight. Now I will have another chance.

I will have my last meal Thurday night and have been doing alot of "lasts". I will miss my soda. Other than that, I am ready. My kids are excited to have a "skinny" Mama. I am excited to be healthier and to wear fun cloths.

Connie,
Congrats on getting your date. Hopefully you will have a "podmate" or two. I had 2 podmates and to this day they are 2 of my most favorite people! It is a special bond we share that can't be broken. Best of luck to you. Don't forget to post your surgery date on the calendar!

Thumbs up Congratulations!

I'm so happy for you and your family! I was a soda junkie! I had a twelve pack a day habit for at least 12 years! Now, this may sound crazy, but I'm three weeks out and I really don't miss it at all! It's kind of like I finally got that monkey off my back. You'll be fine with it! There are lots of other choices. I really like Crystal Light Lime and Lipton Instant Peach Tea! Give them a try! Good luck and my prayers are with you!

Thumbs up I agree

First of all, congrats on your date!! You will be so happy you did this.. as for the soda thing.. now I can tell you that I was a sodaholic for sure. I would re-fill a 52 oz soda thing at 7-Eleven 2-3 times daily and still drink some canned sodas as well. I love, love, loved Dr. Pepper!! I have craved soda I think twice since my surgery almost a year ago. I did taste a diet root beer once and it was ok but not what I remembered. I haven't had soda since. I don't miss it. I never drank anything but soda for years and years. Soda for breakfast, lunch, dinner and inbetween. If I don't miss it, I think you'll do fine too!!

Don't worry it was easier to give up than I thought it would be.

Thanks for the info about the soda. I've bought Crystal Light and non carbonated soda to help me through withdrawl (if any)

Thanks for the support
