I would go to Venice. I've always wanted to visit Italy and I'm fascinated by the waterways and canals. I've been to Delft, Holland, where they have something similar, but I really want to go to Venice and have an authentic Italian experience!

If you knew before the surgery what you do now, would you have changed anything?

My favorite food was cheesecake and all kinds of sugary sweet desserts. Now I gag at the thought of them!

If you have had your surgery, are you ready to "reclaim" yourself? And if you haven't, what would youlike to "re-claim" that has/had somehow gotten lost?

Would I have the surgery again...in a heartbeat...YES, Yes, Yes. I am a much healthier person - although I never struggled with emotional issues like I do now, but if I had to trade, my decisions would not have changed. I am glad that I didn't have it when I was younger...I don't think I was disiplined enough then. (I was 37 when I had mine)

To the next person - what is your biggest challenge post op (if pre-op, same thing!)?

PATIENCE!!! I've never in my life been good at having patience, and it is showing now. Ok, yes, I do have the normal post-op challenges of making sure I get enough water and protein, and being mindful that I don't forget to eat or take my vitamins, etc., but honestly patience is my weakest area. There are days that I feel like I had surgery months and months ago, and I really have to work at reminding myself that I'm not even 8 weeks out yet. My pouch is still a baby! I have so much trouble not eating too fast with big bites (another sign of impatience!), or taking time to eat at all (I have so much else to do!), or trying new foods that I find out people on here didn't eat for 6 months post-op. And though I'm excited about all the weight I'm down already, I get soooo frustrated/anxious/impatient when weight won't come off even faster -- which makes me feel crazy and ungrateful.

So, self, just take a deeeeep breath...relax...it will all come in time...

To the next person: Our tastes all seem to change post-op, so, what is your favorite food now post-op? Have you tried eating anything "crazy"? If so, did it work for your pouch? If you are pre-op, what food are you worried most about missing when you are post-op?

New favourite food post op is Chilli! Anywhere, anytime, anyhow! And yet I hated it before - I was vegetarian!

Question for the person below...

How often did you think about food pre-op and how often do you think about it now?
