Man, I sooooooooo WISH I could telecommute a day or two a week -- and avoid my 5 hour daily commute!!!

Good luck making your argument! And if it doesn't work out...well, sometimes the MFIC has a reason that you don't know about. My MFIC actually had a reason that she won't let me work from home, and though I don't actually agree it is 100% solid or should keep me here every single work day, it made me feel better to know that she wasn't just saying "no" to be contrary.

Well...I spoke with her today...and her answer was NO...she doesn't mind me working from home occasionally (like once a month)...but wouldn't go for 1 to 2 days a week even though I was fine with it being a TRIAL!!! I hate looking for a job, but it has come to the point that I really need to start at it again.

I am so lucky to live 1 mile from work... commute is 5 min. top!

I am also lucky that I can pretty much come and go as I need to - so long as my work gets done. That comes in VERY HANDY with having to run the DH to dr. appts all the time...

I guess I should add those to the thread: I am Thankful for...

sorry Cindy --- it was worth a shot! Maybe hit your boss up for a raise - while the gas prices are so high! Lord knows I pay a "Temp Fuel Surcharge" to the lawn guys, the garbage men and snowblower fellas (at work)!!!

Cindy, I'm glad you got the courage to ask. Maybe pre wls you wouldn't have had that courage.

You have options - that's the good part. You can stay where you are and, if you like, you can rev up your resume to find a corporate work at home (sometimes) job.

You go,girl!
