Default My first of the dumping experience

It's kind of funny really...

on day 4 post-op I sat in my comfy chair in front of my tv and fell asleep. I often drifted in and out of sleep like this the first couple of days and this was no different then before. I began to dream of steak. I could smell it and my mouth began to water. It magically floated up from nowhere and looked so good. I grinned and literally took a bite of thin air. I woke up because I had done just that. I leaned forward in my chair and opened my mouth as if it were really there and fealt the pain in my gut which in turn woke me up. It put a grin on my face as I held my stomach. Easy girl... it's not there! lol! It's really quite silly, I wasn't even hungery, this reminded me of a thread I read about someone dreaming about a hamberger and someone else about food hanging in front of them like a carrot treat for a rabit (tease). I'm sure I got it wrong but you get the idea.

Anyway back to my experience, It's day 8 post-op and I woke up this morning and I was constipated. It was difficult but like most things I thought, "this too will pass". Later I sat in my comfy chair sorting bills and shredding papers when I sat back and thought about that dream and I thought, "What would cause me the problem with my bowles?" "Hmmm, maybe it's because I only have had protien shakes, skim milk and yogart and creamed soup, profect vials... what ever... wierd. I must need some fat... Lord I didn't drink any of that chicken broth yesterday." The steak dream has been on my mind because it was just so silly and I thought I would make some beaf broth today to get something in my stomache to help matters. I raided my cabinet in search of the beaf cubes I bought yesterday, "ha.. there they are" taking 2 cubes and put them in a pot of a cup of water to boil. Looked good... Not quite like the beef broth one gets from Quizno's with the beef dip sandwich but it still smelled and looked good. I poured it into my trusty good luck mug I got from Vegas a month ago and took a sip. It was a little strong so I added some more water and took another sip. "Hummm... Yummy" When I was done I sat for a little bit thinking how I was glad to drink such a warm yummy drink and decided to walk about my back yard. 20 min. later I was back in the house... making a b-line to the bathroom. My problem I had this morning was cured! Now I had an entirely new experience. "What in the world?"... So, I went back to my cubbord and found the box of beef cubes and read the instructions. Low and behold 1/2 a cube makes one cup of broth. I drank 4 times the strength...

I tell ya, Live and learn....

HA! I love the steak dream! Thankfully, steak is the protein that I find the easiest to eat now. Chicken, turkey, and other proteins are really difficult to eat... I just feel uncomfortably full (instantly) for some reason. Steak does not give me that sensation. I can't eat a lot... but I enjoy what I can eat immensely.

Steak will be back on the menu eventually. Until then, enjoy it in your dreams.
