Latest Happenings!
Follow-up with Dr. Department –
Managed to see my surgeon before he went on his 3 week vacation. He says I’m on track with my weight loss, and now free to eat beef and pork (as if I want too.) I really don’t miss beef at all, and I can’t trust pork –sometimes it’s fine, other times – well, you know! He did say “no chips, crackers, pretzels or popcorn.” I asked about a goal weight and he won’t tell me until I see him in January – said I should lose another 20 lbs. by then. He also said my weight loss will start slowing down considerably – which is what I expected! Lastly, he said when I exercise to focus on my legs, this will help firm up my sagging legs, and butt. Hell, I’m starting to look like a human shar-pei!
Anaheim, Azusa and Rancho Cucamonga Nut Ranch and SmokeHouse Department –
Yes boys and girls, we are up and running with our new nutty venture. Attached is the logo we created. My wife and I have been experimenting in the kitchen, and passing out samples to co-workers to see what works and what doesn’t. Right now we’re focusing on Virginia peanuts and cashews. Our spin is we roast them in small batches by hand. We also write the date they were roasted on the label. We’ll be taking them around so we can get a few stores to sell them. I have the website domain registered, and hope to have the website up soon. Once we are established, we will start offering smoked meats, cheese and other goodies. Taking it one step at a time.
When the job stops being fun Department –
My job hunt is in full throttle! I have my resume out there, and going through monster.com, yahoo hotjobs and other websites. I’m looking for either a supervisor/manager, or business analyst position. My hope is to find a job closer to home – 90 mile daily commute is starting to wear on me. I’ve always held that when the job stops being fun, it’s time to go.
Other Stuff Department –
I've been lax in getting more pictures of me, I HOPE to get some tonite!
I’ve other stuff to share, but want to make them separate posts.

Love the logo!
Pat, thanks for the update. Good luck in your new business venture and in your job search. I love the new logo!
The name of your business sounds almost like a cheerleading cheer - "Anaheim! Azuza! Yous-a gonna lose-a! Rancho! Cucamonga! We're the ones who's stronga!" I went to college in the Inland Empire (Claremont) as a freshman and sophomore and I always thought Rancho Cucamonga was the most delightful and amusing name - it made me think of Rancho Cucaracha...

Thanks Eric!
Actually, I got the name idea from the old Jack Benny radio show, when the train conductor would announce their stops - "Anaheim, Azusa and Cuca-monga." I figured it was appropriate considering I live in Cucamonga!
