This is turning into a real horror movie. I know I've said it before, but we are safe and expect to remain so. Anyone who is being evacuated and needs a bed, let us know! We are okay with most animals, and are very willing to help. Need a good meal? We can do that, too. Please let us help during this scary time. With our bodies as wracked as they are, and our finances as poor as they are, we're not able to help in many ways. But we have food and we have a spare room. We are most willing to share our resources with those whose needs are momentarily greater. Call us at 619-287-3217 if we can help you in any way. Our hearts are with everyone experiencing such devastating loss and fear.

John, thanks for updating us with info on your dad. I'm not a bit surprised to read that he is volunteering his time and knowledge. He's a good man.

The news here is saying a half million people have been evac'd and the fires are not in any way under control. I feel helpless, and all I can do is send all good thoughts to the TT peeps in harm's way. Keep us posted, please, any of you who can.

Thoughts are with all of you in Southern California. I can't even imagine how so many of you must be feeling. Like Lisa, I feel so helpless. Nothing I can do but pray for nature to stop its fury.

Be safe everyone. Pam, I'm worried about you! That fire looks SO CLOSE. I really wish you would get out of there! You can't fight it if it heads closer so why stay? Your safety is what is important here!

How are you folks doing? I know the wind switched and it sounds like at least some of you are in harm's way. Can anyone update us on those in danger?

We got all packed and ready to go then the winds changed. For now it looks like we dodged the bullet. East SD county is in no way out of danger, but where we are is good for now.

Is everyone else that had to leave ok?

Just like the 2003 fires, one more day of the dry, strong, gusty Santa Ana winds (that's winds from the ENE blowing across the desert and to the west for those not familiar) and we'd all be camping on the beaches. I feel sure all the thoughts and prayers helped turn the winds. Thank you.

California has seen it's worst ever in recorded history.
Many have lost their homes, valuables, memories
more than money could ever replace.
Please pray for those involved and those threatened
and those fighting for the rest of our lives and belongings.

ALL WE ASK IS FOR YOUR PRAYERS.

There are many things people can do to help.

To giving your effort and time to volunteer @ local evacuation centers.
Just to keep everyone's mind off of the worst.
