OMG! I just went out to the store, and the smoke in the city (tustin) is so bad that you can't see anything down the street, and the wind is blowing like in one of those bad movies where you see the big weeds blowing across the desert! And it smells all smoky even in the house here. Sheesh this can't be good for the lungs!!! Janie

I just tried to take pictures of the orange moon, but all I got was what looks like snow, although it is ashes. I also just received an email and phone call from the Poway Unified School District - they have closed schools for at least tomorrow due to unhealthy air quality. It is so thick it is hard to breath, and I'm at least 30 miles away from the fire. They just came on the TV and said there is a mandatory evacuation for the entire city of Ramona.

I work in Rancho Bernardo...air quality should be yucky there tomorrow.

That's because there is a fire right to the East of you. Be safe!

It's 9:35 pm and I'm watching the news. Fires are now in Canyon Country and Irvine, Ontario too. They are afraid the high winds might carry embers to the Newport Beach area.

It breaks my heart to see folks lose their homes and I hope and pray they are someplace safe.

The outside air is bad here also. It will be difficult going to work tomorrow and breathing the smokey air.

Cindy, it's horrible already. My Suburban is covered in about 1/4 inch of ash and we can barely see to the end of the street. We're in Rancho Penasquitos right off the 15/56.

Just a little video to show what did happen almost 3 yrs to the day in October 25, 2003. Stands to show why those of us from Ramona/Lakeside/Julian and Poway are essentially freaking the heck out atm.

VERY slow to load but worth it just to see what magnitude the Santa Ana winds have on dry brush.

I know that there are a lot of prayers needed to go around but please keep these ppl in your thoughts. No one should ever have to go through a mandatory evacuation let alone twice in three years.
