Going to a concert!!!!!
I can not wait. For my Birthday ( nov.3) My husband has bought tickets to a Newsboys concert. Its a christian Band that we saw when we first started dating almost ten years ago. The Best part of the whole thing is my children will be staying with Grama and Grampa so we get to go alone. I am going to buy a new outfit( mainly due to my clothes getting to big) But I am looking forward to it because I am no longer so big I can't fit in the chairs. If not for the surgery I wouldn't have gone because I would be afraid I wouldn't fit in the chairs.
I do have one concern. I am afraid of eating out mainly do to fear of dumping. I will be on a general diet by then. Any Ideas on the food issue?

Our nutritionist suggested that we start trying foods at home that we may encounter when at events. Think about where you will be eating and what what types of foods you might encounter.
If you are planning on eating in a nicer place, (not fast food), there will be a lot of things you can eat. Steak works really well for me. You won't be able to eat a lot, but steak seems to break down well and I have never had a problem with it. Choose a lower carb vegetable like green beans, cauliflower, etc.
Remember to take small bites chew thoroughly. My most common mistake when I went back to solid foods was not chewing enough, especially when trying to have a conversation over dinner.
Be careful of sauces. If I am not sure what is in the sauce on a food item, I scrape most of it off just in case it is loaded with sugar. I don't use steak sauce, but if you do, read the label before you use it. Other sauces, the cook might pour on the food in the kitchen, so just keep your eyes open.
I have also had good luck with broiled fish and chicken breasts (although, I have a harder time swallowing chicken than beef for some reason.)
When you get the go-ahead from your doctor to go to solid foods give these things a try at home. I try not to eat anything for the first time away from home. Oh... just remembered that restaurants use a lot of butter in most meals, so be sure to check your reaction to butter before you go. Some people have a lot of trouble with dairy.
Have fun on your date!!!!

Some restaurants won't let you share entrees, or they may charge you x amount per plate. You may want to ask about this when ordering. It's for the same reason that some places won't let adults order off the kid's menu. It's stupid, but it's because the food costs less, so the wait staff gets less of a tip.

If the restaurant lets me order a kids plate I still leave a tip as if I paid full price so that way the waitress does not get shorted.
Side bar...how are you feeling Jenny?

Right, I do the same thing. My tip isn't always based on how much the meal cost....but try telling that to stuffy waiters.
Today I have a headache and I'm hungry and nothing we have in the house appeals to me....someone needs to fix it kk thx.

Sorry to hear about your headache. Those suck. I hate when nothing appeals to me...then when you finally do eat something it's not what you want.

Des... you have a SWEET husband! Our first real date was years ago - I treated my (then) sweetheart to a Neil Diamond Concert... when he was coming to town sev. years ago, I asked my DH if he'd like to go... "Not really," was his reply... so I went BY MYSELF!!!
A year or so later Elton John was coming to town... I asked the DH if he wanted to go and he said, "Of Course!" He's not a big EJ fan, I just think he felt bad that I went alone before... LOL!
Dining out --- When I had breakfast with Squishy (Mike) last week, we sat down and he picked up the menu and said, "This is always a challenge.... but we always make it work!" and he did... You'll do fine! ENJOY YOURSELVES!!!
HUGZ!
