I'll probably get flamed royally for this suggestion, but I put it out here because I so appreciate our shared cynical, sarcastic sense of humor.
If you have any of the clothes you used to wear to work pre-WLS, wear something comfy, then put the old clothes on with enough padding to look like you used to. Then when people freak out and ask you what your costume is, act all innocent--make them think that all the weight you lost was in their heads! "What? What do you mean I've lost weight? Are you kidding? I've been wearing this for years!"
Like I said, just because I love to be sarcastic as hell sometimes.

Picasso's Blue Period: I'm choking to death in laughter. I think my scar is splitting open.
That's hysterically funny.

A really cheap but funny one too, is get a bunch of those "my name is ____" and write a whole bunch of different names on them and stick them all over yourself and go as an "identity crisis"
Or get some old sweat, get a bike tire and some paint and roll tire marks all over the sweats and attach some cuddly toys and then you can go as "Roadkill"
Thats a couple I have used. I also went as "making a spectacle of myself", I am in optometry so have access to loads of old glasses and lenses so I covered myself in them and made earrings and necklaces out of old lenses, that one was a little different!

This is the no fuss costume I am using this year. I am wearing a little black dress, heels, and sporting a new hair do. I will fashion a poster board to look like a master card and write on it
Little Black dress: $75
New Shoes: $100
Hair: $150
Halloween Costume with minimal effort: Priceless!!!!!!!
