So, as promised, here's the story of my crazy weekend. It was SO crazy that I've shortened it into cliff notes version. I can elaborate as needed.
Pictures from this weekend can be found at
http://photos.alleusion.com. They're all in the Wedding and Niagara Falls albums. I did add a baby bump picture from this weekend in the baby folder if anyone is interested in that as well.
Friday morning :
Packed the car, headed out. No problems crossing from Canada into the US (remember this it's important later). Got lost. Decided to forgo Lewiston and got our marriage license in Niagara, NY instead. Got to city hall and realized I left my divorce papers at home. Got the license anyways. Decided to go back to Canada, check into our hotel in Niagara and show the kids the falls. Hassled by customs going from the US to Canada (didn't have custody papers with me). Got lost.
Walked around Niagara Falls, Canada, took pictures, fought morning (afternoon) sickness. Checked into hotel, got dinner. Went to bed.
Saturday morning:
Wake up, check out of hotel, have an amazing breakfast at a hole in the wall diner. Had no trouble crossing from Canada into the US. Got lost (see a pattern forming?). Got directions from a mini mart in a very scary part of Rochester in the rain. Walked into a bridal store and walked out with a wedding gown in 45 minutes. Got a tux in 30 min. Got lost. Hour and a half late for our own wedding. Got married. Had dinner at a mall food court in my wedding dress (the baby wanted Burger King).
Headed home. Had to wait for an hour at immigration trying to get from the US into Canada.....in my wedding gown. Got visitor status for Canada and permission for the kids to start school. Learned how to say "shut up" and "stop bugging me" in french (Immigration officer was teaching the kids how to say things). Got home at 2am.
Sunday morning:
Woke up early, picked up moving van. Stood around and watched the men folk lift furniture and boxes. Moved into new home.
So that was my weekend in a nutshell.
