Has anyone?
I use so much internet slang in my daily life as all my family and friends are out of state so I am always emailing of IM'ing. Is it just me or anyone else ever wanted to say LOL to someone in person? I have talked to people in person and thought in my head LOL (I didn't say it) but thought about it...Maybe I am just silly and need to step away from the computer..

btw idk it's scary to know that my DD will be using codes like this to talk to her BFF on MSN.
Seriously, if you have children that use the internt it's really important to learn these things. There are scary people out there.

Renee, how funny you posted about wanting to use "LOL" in oral conversation with people -- I find myself thinking the same thing! There's a really funny new show on HBO called "Californication" that stars David Duchovny (YUM...!). He plays a writer experiencing a serious case of writer's block who is doing a regular blog until he can get his writing back on track. In last week's episode, a woman he was dating said "LOL" to him while they were talking in bed and it sent him off into a rant on his blog about how 'Netspeak is killing off the English language. It was pretty funny to me because I IM a lot and end up using all the shorthands people have spelled out in this thread. LOL!
