Default watching the biggest loser

I just want to say that it is awful to make those people wear those workout tops at the beginning....and***need i say it****spandex shorts**** on national television! I was helping my DD study for a test but was watching out of the corner of my eye.....just wanted to share MHO. I was thinking about watching it this season and maybe get some good workout ideas.

Default Just watched it on the DVR

Loving it this year, with three teams and all. I like a lot of things about the show, and haven't heard them say the devil words, "and without surgery!" yet... I do admire these people. They leave their homes and families to save their own lives, and wearing a sports bra and spandex on national television when I weighed 303 pounds might have been more than I could do.

I love the fact that the 62 year old was the one who lost the most weight and he was the lightest of any guy there. So it was a double wammy. The bigger guys its easier for them to have dramatic weightloss in the first couple of weeks. He was 297lbs going up against guys who were 100lbs and more his best and 20-35+ years his junior.

It drives a real valid point home that i've been saying since day one. Its about heart! Its about determination and how bad you want it. How hard you work.

Its about finding reason's why you can do something and not reasons why you can't. Age and weight aside the biggest factor in someone's weightloss is heart/drive.

I hope everyone on this board saw that episode.

I don't know, I loved the show and yes its probably hard to leave your family for a few months, but after that they have it made, while they are there...

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying what they are doing is easy, but they are isolated from the real world the daily stress of work and the family and being so busy you want to just get "something fast".

They are pretty much free from all that. I would say the people that really impress me are right here on this forum and others just like this. Just saying "OK I need help and the operation" was THE hardest thing I ever had to do. And dealing with work and family and daily life.

I am not advocating any one is better then anyone else, people who lose weight on their own at home impress the hell out of me too. It just seems some people need a little more ... structure then other to achieve the same thing.

Again, my hats off to everyone here, and yes I will watch TBL. No matter what its inspirational and every need inspiration.

Just my $.02

Jason

I watched it too and wondered if I could have done it too. What amazed me was the 20-30 pound weight loss in one week!!! Most of it is fluids, but I dread to see the next few weeks....it may be a let down for them.

Just wait till they find out about the black team!!!

Default People

They had an article about past bl contestants, and telling what they are doing now etc. All of them have gained back some weight (which is normal I think), but only a few have gained back a lot. It's nice to see that most of them took away what they learned and have stuck with it. There was one lady that has lost even more weight since she left.
I love the show, and I also can't wait for them to figure out about the black team. That will be FUN!

You know I feel the same way about the older man, but call it simple math if ya want to but I dont understand how a larger person burns more calories doing the same task as a person who is smaller??? can someone explain this elementary fact to me please?
