Rob Schneider nearly got between me and Watermelon
Ok...so I read a few posts recently about watermelon...that made me need to run out and get some...
so I went to Bristol Farms (a high-end/expensive grocery store) so I could get the best possible one I could find...but when I got there it took me forever to park and get in the store, and I couldn't figure out why. Turns out actor/comdeian Rob Schnieder and a full film crew were there filming a movie...it took me twice as long to get in and buy the watermelon...but it was neat seeing Rob Schneider in make-up and filming...I guess that's what happens when you live in Southern California...there's always film crews around here...just usually not at the supermarket. But it made for a more interesting day.
I'll have my watermelon tonight....mmmmmm

I bet the movie he was shooting is called Big Stan. My Uncle did most of the music for it, and I believe they are soon to be wrapped up. Pretty cool to see it in action @ the store.
BTW...Was the Watermelon Yummy?

LOL. You guys crack me up with the watermelon stuff.
Not too long ago I went to our local grocery store HEB Plus (kind of like a super Walmart but is a local chain) and needed something on a frozen food ailse-I think it was bagels. It was all blocked off & all these people were standing around the aisle. I did not feel good that day & was in no mood so I just went & got what I needed--it was near the end of the aisle anyways. I went on my merry way. When I got to the check-out I asked what was going on on that aisle & Emmit Smith had been there filming a commercial...AND I DID NOT SEE HIM!! How do you miss Emmit Smith?!! I'm still kicking myself.

In the neighborhood where I live there's ALWAYS some filming activity going on for movies or commercials. They either use houses or the tree-lined streets (overhanging trees here) After awhile you get tired of having to deal with the huge production trucks, camera mounted rolling cars, blocked streets and limited parking.
My street in particular is used for car commercials and it gets rather boring watching cars zoom up and down the street over and over again, all day.
It's not just the professional crews that come along either. We get film students from nearby CSULB also.
Long Beach is considered a prime city for filming and boy do they take advantage of that!

Ditto to what Teri said... Long Beach has become extremely popular over the years to film in. I was driving home from work the other night and it looked like something was being filmed at a bar. I tried to slow down to see, but there was a car behind me and I knew they would have started honking.

Watermelon
I bought just a piece of watermelon last night because it smelled so good. I am just getting used to "real" food - mushed-up stuff anyway - so I was afraid to try any - just smelled it.
This morning, I couldn't stand it any more. I had some real tiny cut-up pieces - loved it! Now I'll have some more.
Thanks for the ideas for refried beans, cheese and green sauce. It stays down and tastes good. Also Wal-Mart has frozen telapia in garlic and herbs right now - delicious! And each filet is 24g of protein! Also the Light string cheese by Frigo is a very good idea. My granddaughter decided she wanted some too - 4 yo. So we shared.
You guys are the best. Have a great 4th!

We have a great local produce store up here in Erie that has seedless watermelons for $2.99 usually so I get them as often as I can. Nothing tastes better!
