Hi All,

My friend Kelly is a big girl. She cannot have GBP due to health reasons.

She works in the Bingo hall at Viegas Casino in San Diego, CA. She has worked on the floor for 13 years. Her bosses have mentioned a number of times that she needs to loose weight. She has tried but has not been able to do it. She is very good at what she does and earns very good tips.

They recently took her off the floor and put her selling bingo cards saying it will be better for her. They will not admit it was because of her weight.

This costs her her tips which total over $1,500.00 per month. She cannot afford this but cannot quit because she would loose all her benefits.

I have gone on the casino web site and let them know how I feel about this but I only have one voice.

I just left them a message saying Kelly is missed on the Bingo floor and asking when they're returning her to the floor..I'll let you know I get a response.

I too have left them a message. Isn't there anything she can do as far as discrimination goes, she is still physically able to do her job.

She is still able to do the job fine. She has always been a big girl and has only missed a shift whenf she gat a bad cold.

She really doesn't have a case for discrimination since the casino woll not admit that is why they took her off the floor. They actually call it a promotion since she makes a little more per hour but that is only about a dollar per hour. It doesn't come close to making up for the lost tips.

Plus she loved it on the floor. She can't even socialize at the sales counter because of having to sell to more customers. She only has time for a few words.

Thanks all of you for sending the e-mails unfortunitly they didn't do any good. My friend is still off the floor and on the sales desk.

I told her about the e-mails and she sends her great thanks.

She started crying when I told her. She has been getting help from her family and I know she will make it.
