Default My Candy Dream....

Ok..so now that I'm 6 days post-op I'm still resting quite a bit...I just woke up from a nap, and during the nap I had a dream that a friend of mine owned a candy store and I went and visited her...upon leaving I took samples of everything to eat later....LOTS of samples.
Then I woke up...and I felt kinda bummed I wouldn't be eating candy any more. I really loved candy a lot. So I went and had a sugar free popsicle. It helped.

Weird dream. Do you think I'm just going through food mourning?

Yes, I think you are going through food mourning... and I think you will have a lot more food dreams. I had a ton the first few months out from surgery. Guess what....you will have candy again some day, if you want it and you can handle the sugar. I just had a peanut butter cup today...just not the whole bag like I used to. Everything in moderation now.

Simone, sounds like you are on the "normal" track after surgery. Food made me crazy! While going through this process, just see your food mourning for what it is and it will help you get through it. I wasn't aware of the things that would happen to me emotionally until I found this forum and all of these great people out of desperation for some knowledge. I wish I had found it so much sooner and I would have been more prepared. Welcome home and hang in there! It's a WILD ride!

LOL! I dreamt last night that I was having a steak at Morton's. I've been craving beef lately, too much chicken.

You can still have diabetic SF candy, of course in moderation. It actually tastes pretty good now. I remember growing up and spending summers at my grandparent's place (both are diabetic) and sneaking some candy and wondering why it tasted so bad, lol. But now the stuff they buy you really cannot taste the difference (and no, I don't sneak it anymore, I ask ).
