Default Got the official word last night!

Michelle called last night with the official word from the doctor--SHE'S COMING HOME!!!!!!! They will probably ship her home within the next couple of days! She is to have 2 weeks of serious rest for her knee to get some of the swelling down, then sees a surgeon about cleaning up the meniscus chunks and sewing up the tears and filing down the bone spurs.

Obviously, we are both thrilled--she will finally get the care she has needed for her knee for awhile now, we get to be together again, and since it's WC she will continue to be able to bring dollars into the house--a VERY important benefit, and one of the best things is that 4 supervisors have asked her to please come back in January for "A" season, which is only 2 months long but makes much more money than B season--which is 6 months long. They want to give her a promotion on top of it!

I'm soooo proud of my woman--she really stuck it out through some tough stuff, and earned the respect of everyone there. Her posse is greiving already, but they are glad she will be coming back.

On a different, but completely related note, I have a question--

WOULD ANYONE HERE IN THE AREA LIKE TO MAKE SOME MONEY CLEANING THE HOUSE?? I've tried to keep it clean, but the dust insisted on falling on everything, I can't vaccuum, and would like it to have a good thorough cleaning so Michelle doesn't feel like she has to do it. If you already work too hard, but know of someone reputable to recommend, that's perfectly wonderful, too.

I find it rather telling that last night, for the first time since June 4, I fell asleep, and slept without waking until 1:45pm!!! I woke up and fixed some fruit and yogurt and had another 2 hour nap before I finished the yogurt. I had another nap after that. I had plans to get my labwork done today and lay out by the pool all day, and instead have been sleeping the whole day! I'm sure there is no connection....

Please pm me or give me a call if you know of someone who can help me out--thank you sooooo much!

I don't know of anyone to help prepare for Michelle's homecoming but I'm SO happy for you both. Things just seem to have a way of working out don't they? Even when we don't understand why or how. I'm sorry her knee is hurting though but it's one of those blessings in disguise! YAY for you both!

Donna, that's GREAT NEWS! I hope she heals super quick, and that she can be here for you when you have your back surgery. I know this means so much to you. Michelle must be a very special person to have gone in there and earned all that respect, and even earned a promotion when she comes back! That's awesome. As for the housecleaning, I can't even keep my own house the way I'd like...no ideas...sorry. Truthfully, Michelle will be so happy to be home with you, she may not notice a few dust bunnies

Default :) I'm so happy...

So glad for you... I know it's been so hard, too hard. And two months out sounds much more do-able than six... plus the $$$ sounds like a relief, too. Loving the note I'm "hearing" in your "voice," such relief and joy. Loving it!

Everything seems to be coming together for you. I'm so sorry that I missed her homecoming. We'll have to make plans to get together when I come back to get the rest of my stuff.

Thanks everyone! Right after I wrote that, I fell asleep again--right in the middle of a post--I woke up and discovered that the whole page was nothing but "k"...had to edit that one! I should get up and get some food--I've slept nearly the whole day and only ate my yogurt n bananas...

And yes, there is much joy in mudville tonight--thanks for the love and support. It means more to me than you can ever know. We are BOTH looking forward to Rain's summer bash!

Default So glad to hear your good news!

Donna, I'm so glad to hear your good news! I hope Michelle has a safe trip and that her homecoming is wonderful for both of you. Have you thought about just gathering the dust bunnies up and using them to stuff a pillow for Michelle to use to elevate her leg post-surgery? That would kill two birds with one stone (what can I say - one of my many nicknames in college was "The Practical Boy") without requiring you to vacuum or find a housekeeper...
