Arrow all ready to go!

so i had my final appointment with doctor today, met with anesthesiologist, pre registered into the hospital, paid my copay, got my pain medicine for after surgery, and bought my shakes ( should be ok for at least one week after surgery)

i am scheduled to be at the hospital at 5:30 am on Wed August 8
i will be the first in line up for the surgery

they said that they will give me some "happy" juice to make me relax lol

the only thing i am a bit nervous about, is the breathing tube... they said they will most likely put a breathing tube in my throat due to sleep apnea, so i might wake up with the tube still in my throat, a bit scary.... i might panic or something, so hopefully that will go ok.

oh and another thing anesthesiologist told me is not to wear dark nail polish to surgery.... i guess it effects some machines... i was like wow! lol ok

other then that.... i am all set to go i cant believe it is happening!

Wheeeeee! Hang on Nikki! I always thought the nail polish thing was so they could see that your nail beds were still pink, meaning you were getting enough oxygen...but who knows!

Showers only (no swimming or baths) until the incisions are completely healed. Mine took right around 6 weeks. Not to mention, swimming is pretty stressful on the abdominal muscles and you don't want to strain those until you're cleared for it.

Congrad on your surgery date and preparations. How exciting. For the dark nail polish, they place a Pluse oximeter on your finger to monitor your pulse and oxygen saturation of your blood (how much oxygen is on your blood cells) A little red laser shines through your nail bed and is caught on the other side to reflect the percent of Oxygen saturation. Dark nail polish effect the laser from passing through the nail bed to be read I love medicine and it's tools!
